Mo Farah's pit stop.
Mo Farah's pit stop.
Schippers was great, but only won by 0.03 sec over another newcomer. Felix had the fastest 400 split by TWO SECONDS!
Sure, but being a Dutch guy I was literary shaking and euphoric after Schippers' performances at the 100 and 200. I was born in the same city as Daphne, man. I do races organized by her club.
Felix was great, Eaton was great. But seeing them perform doesn't touch me on an emotional level. Federer wins the US Open this year? Great, but it doesn't touch me. Kiki Bertens or Robin Haase reaching the second round? That's another story.
..schippers is a star...and hot..
She sure is!
And shame on me... of course it's "Dafne"
Wow, Dibaba's 1:56.9 final 800 already forgotten? She ran the 5k with heel spurs after 4 rounds in spikes and no excuses for getting beat. Plus she's hot
Dennis Mitchell (USA relay coach), who won 3 gold medals for Jamaica.

Almaz Ayana, one of the most amazing runs that I've ever seen, totally destroying the field and breaking Dibaba.
1ashton 2 bolt 3 mo 4 taylor 5 yego 6 niekerk 7 bett 8 shubenkov 9 kovacs 10 barber my top ten.
Top female: Infeld
Top male: Mandingo (sp?) 2nd 1500m
Both give all they have until the very end and collect their rewards.
I dislike Kiprop more and more, and suspect him to be heavily juiced.
Eaton's WORLD RECORD
1. Allyson Felix
2. Shaune Miller
2. Elijah Manangoi
2. Girmay Ghebrsellasie
2. Van Niekerk
2. David Bett
2. Shermaine Williams
2. Dafne Schippers
End of thread.

Well, yeah, you're Dutch, so....D'uh.
(and you're gonna be awfully sad when she gets busted. Out of all the possible dopers, she's gotta be #1. )
Eaton is the king.
Many others were great: Kiprop, Farah, Bolt, Kemboi, etc.
But Eaton is the king.
After decades and decades of being obliterated by Blacks sprinters a White girl wins one and White race carders go insane....
Talk about low self esteem :(

Quite funny on the women's side that the fastest 800m was done in the 1500m and the fastest 1500m was done in the 5000m

Jeremy Wariner and Andrew Rock won 15 medals and most of them were gold. It's not white sprinters that have low self esteem, but white distance runners who are a total joke. And neither white nor black sprinters are unhappy with each other: We're all the same team (USA), and that still applies when Gatlin is racing Bolt.
Agree that all you list are amazing. Bolt. Top superstar under most pressure ever and rises to the moment. We forget even superstars earn that pinnacle.Top event: Many a close second, but the men's 400. Wow.Most impressed me. Merritt. Both, but in this case Aries. Anyone who leaves him off is not looking at the whole picture. That was astounding. 13.04 and a 110H 3rd is already great, but under the circumstances?
