Burla ran a great race, closed a big gap in the middle.

Burla finished 10th, by the way.
A good way to leave the event after the Mens' bonks

Great run by the American Serena Burla who has crossed the line in 10th.
K Ken Nakamura @KKenNakamura 4m
4 sec difference between 1st and 3rd is also smallest ever; previously the min was 17 sec, recorded in 1991, 2001, and 2009

It was Dibaba.
If she wins the 5000 later the same day as winning the marathon, it may raise a few eyebrows
Ovett says women were lucky to race in much cooler conditions than the men. Mant runners in the 2:35 to 2:45 range were not far from their pbs.

two women at 2:46 just finished hand in hand. mustve been a tough day for them both. they werent from the same country, one looked russian or turkish though. i'll check results later
At least the Chinese learned their lesson and had officials at the finish. Pity not full lap though.
Palestine athlete finishing in 2:53 then collapses. Huge roars from Chinese. The Chinese medics are clueless. They probably bought their diplomas which is normal in China.
Don't go to Chinese hospitals - they are a disaster. Medical care in average Chinese hospitals is awful.
Ghost in Thailand
Mare Dibaba = Marathon
Genzebe Dibaba = 1500, and 5000

I wish I have enough money to sponsor a track meet with Dibabas vs all comers.
Mare not related to the "famous" Dibabas.

Strangely, considering their lack of any success, India has the worst doping record of any IAAF country, at least on a percentage basis.
