Slowest winning time in history! What the hell were they thinking?
Just did the math. 3:55.61 for the last 1600 for leader to leader. So Farah was 3:55 low.
Rupp and True must have broken 4:00 as well for the last 1600!! as they were only 3.6-7 seconds behind farah.
I got up at 4am for this.Never again.
Mo 52.6 last lap!
repeat of US champs 5000
They should all be DQ'd for running the wrong event. There's no 1000 meters in the WC.
So Farah closed in 3:55 splitting something like 2:06 - 1:48?
No medals but respect for Rupp and True. Rupp's best global 5K finish.
I thought the Team USA 5k team ran as well as they could. Rupp ran better than I thought he would to be honest. The kenyans and Mo Farah are just simply better and more talented.

Can someone please explain this to me? People always say they want a fast time, but how could that last mile not have been exciting? Who cares if the overall time was slow, that was an awesome race.
Great job by the Americans!217.172.132.207
Just wanted to bring back a great quote from these boards...:
"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me four or five times, I'm a Kenyan or Ethiopian mid-distance runner."
I was up at 4 as well and I thought it was very exciting. Ndiku took it from 800 and made Mo use a different tactic to win. Ndiku really helped Farah because he took everyone else out of contention. He even got a couple meters on Farah at one point, that was cool to see. Gave the race just a small question mark with the gap and leading into the final straight.

Agreed - Place wise the U.S. Finished at least as good if not somewhat better then expected. I am not sure how a faster race would have changed that.

Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
