not too suspicious. others are way more suspicious
should be worth noting that he specialized in 200m for years before recently focusing on 400m. dunno when he switched focus
Anyone running sub 45 is suspicious
if van Nierkerk is clean so is Merrit
I can't wrap my hands around it......
Non sequitur. Not accusing Merritt of doping, but Van Nierkerk can simply be more talented and faster than a doped runner.
I think the top 3 ran "believably" well for their pedigree and history, but I wouldn't rule out that one of the 3 was not clean. The statstics and history make it a distinct possibility.
43.01
2013-2014: .71 improvement. Kinda fishy.
2014-15: .90 improvement. U what mate?
Almost a full second off his time into the 43's. You're supposed to make smaller improvements the faster you go, not larger.
Let's keep in mind that he is 22....
Right in his prime.

Counterpoint: his raw speed got better, so of course he takes big chunks off his 400.
We need his 100 progression too. Only man sub 10/20/44. A special talent.
In closing, that could be drugs too lol.
I think this might put a "chink" in the armour of all the macho men who think they are the only ones controlling 400M training. Niekirk's coach is a 74 your old great grandmother. Never to old to train a champion...
that's Chinese mate, not "Chink"! thank you--
Only way to PR is to dope.
Doesn't is just put a chink in the armor of anyone who thinks a coach makes a difference at all?

The famous Mexican drug dealer Heredia once said that 44.00 is impossible. Since he supplied so many athletes, he must be the expert!

What's a chink doing out of the rice patty anyway?
LOL
