Honest question, when did Puma become such a legit sports sponsor? I always think of Puma in terms of casual, sporty-look athletic clothing and shoes, not really made for serious spots.
Obviously, they have another side - performance clothing and shoes, but I don't remember when they became so prominent (even if substantially behind the biggest companies). They were an afterthought for a long time, and then a saw a few tennis players, a few national soccer teams, track athletes, and I see Puma more and more.
Was Puma's more serious side something I had missed in my youth? Did it always exist? Was there a down period in its history where it was bought by different holding companies, and he brand was resurrected.
