The aciton is underway. Walking into the Bird's nest, we thought to ourselves, 'This is a nice night to run. Not as muggy as previous nights.'
Now that we've sat down, we're take that back.. Weather.com is reporting very similar weather to other nights. Its' really all about whether there is a tiny breeze or not. When you are feeling a breeze, a humid 75 doesn't feel too bad. When you are sitting here with no breeze or trying to run in it, it is hot. The flags are dead still.
More bad news. The beer isn't cold. First beer stadn said they were out. 2nd one sold us some (90 cents a piece) but room temperature.
Anyway, our women's steeple preview is here:
In other news, the AMAZING stereotype defying meet for Kenya continues. Julius Yego just became the 3rd longest javeling thrower in history at 92.72m!!!
The computers here that have resutlts also have a "PLacing Table" where they rnank the countries based on 1-8 places.
They have Kenya at #1 with 90. USA #2 at 77. Germany third with 41. Then Poland 39, China 38, Jamaica 35.
If only the male Kenyan marathoners had done well. Who would say Kenya would have golds in 400h and javelin but only a 23rd place showing in the marathon?
