Abby Faith Cheeseman has an older brother Carter Cheeseman. The even better question is where Carter is. He hasn’t raced since 2021 track.

Rankings can be found here:
South boys rankings:
looks good except I’d switch Jesuit LA with Southlake Carroll TX
Midwest boys:
there is absolutely no way Hinsdale Central should be #1. Carmel and Center Grove are on a whole different level than all other teams because of the transfers they got.
In fact, HC is not even a lock to win the Illinois state meet. Kickapoo should probably be in the top 5.
Southwest boys:
American Fork at 5th? Not sure about that. They only have 2 guys back and add 1 transfer. But with coach mostert, they always seem to be able to compete with anyone in the SW
Herriman returns everyone, adds Doug Soles as a coach, and closed the 3-5 gap. I think they can compete with any team. Should probably be in the top 5 at least.
not sure if Niwot should be #1. They seem to lack what they used to have: a front runner. Losing a 1/2 punch is always tough for a team.
And on the girls side, Southlake Carroll should be top 2 in the South
morgantown wv should be top 5 for Southeast girls
so this just got in…
top 2 are on point. Maybe creekside could challenge Belen.
Brentwood 3rd? Well first, They would need to be the best team in TN. Not sure if they are. Mccallie returns 3 sub-4:20 guys. Actually, they bring back 5 sub-16:20 guys.
Mount tabor is no where near the top 5. NC is no good on the boys team side this year. Tabor lost their top 3.
I think Wando SC should be in the top 5. They bring back both of their top 2 finishers from the 3200 at the state meet, a 4:23/9:43 transfer, and also 2 juniors with a 4:35 and 4:36.
farragut tn brings back 4 sub-16 guys so they could maybe challenge for the #1 spot in Tennessee
the funny thing is that they put Brentwood and Carrollton ga in here with no explanation whatsoever.
NE
On the boys side, Bishop Hendricken should be top 5 easily. Maybe #3.
They killed it at NXR and return so much depth.
They return 3 scorers and 4 more sub-9:12 guys who weren’t varsity last year. So they won’t rebuild. They will reload. They will be better than last year.
CBA and Union Catholic lose their #1, and Hendricken keeps their #1.
Seems like a lot of NJ bias here. I think Hall CT and Coe Brown from NH would be up there with healthy Cox.
SW girls: I feel like there’s an all-Colorado bias here.
Cherry creek is still a good team but idk if they deserve to be top 5 in here because of how many they lost including Riley Stewart.
It says in there that Mountain Vista got 4th at the state meet in their division, so that gives them even more reason to keep them out of the top 5.
I would put Springville UT and Highland AZ in there.
Desert vista was gonna be up there too but the departure of Lauren Ping puts them out of the picture.
NY boys: Saratoga should be top 5.
Lakeville north boys team just crushed Wayzata at the st Olaf invite. Such a shame they aren’t even in the top 5.
Wayzata was missing a couple of guys who will make the race close when they return.
Millard West probably should not be in the top 5. Their 4/5 at 17:58 and 18:13 isn’t gonna get it done. Both need to continue to improve each race.
Iowa City high and Norwalk ia showed some promise and will probably be top 5. Both could challenge for the Iowa state title.
minneapolis Washburn had a good top 4 today. If they get a 5th the will be top 5 and could maybe challenge for a state title and an NXN berth.
stevens point is good but they only got 4th at state last year and lost many seniors. Kinda too bold to put them in the top 5 at this point. But this year they only have 1 senior so next year they could make NXN.
they’re gonna win state but Wisconsin isn’t that strong this year
Bishop blanchet should be ahead of crater on the boys side
Has Dyestat given up on California?
California rankings will be posted either tonight or tomorrow
Not sure I agree with that. Several of there guys didn't even run track. It is possible that they crushed the summer and will be great. We shall see.
Well you guys tried. Pretty much ignored the first couple of weeks of the season and just based them on last year but we will see how much they change by the next one.
For the South Boys - I would’ve put Coppell over Vandegrift at 5
Well, vandegrift almost beat atascocita and the woodlands last week, and their 4-5 gap was large because they were missing one of their top 5 (Schinck). If he raced, vandegrift would have beaten bith teams
I like this post though. It’s really funny. “Great Oak, which will soon get a chance to compete against former coach Doug Soles' new team from Utah (Herriman) at the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic”
if there are any lessons to be learned from this meet, it’s that hinsdale central seriously needs a number 5 for this team to be number 1 in Illinois let alone go to NXN. Carmel is the outright #1 in the mw. Probably top 10 in the nation. Center grove’s Ty Garrett has not raced yet, and they always seem to sit another scorer out. With everyone in the lineup they actually would have lost to Zionsville today. I don’t think everyone from center grove ran their best.
would like to see mason OH and Kickapoo race all of their varsity
I'm taking Granada over Great Oak based on track times. The #2 and #3 are on the same level as their #1
Farragut went 16:17: 16:23, 16:30, 16:32, 16:42, 16:59 on the relatively slow Victor Ashe Park course in Knoxville in the rain this morning. That’s as solid as any team has ever run on that course…in October. I’d put them slightly ahead of Brentwood, who ran last week. Have not seen anything from McCallie yet.
Herriman boys team (what Doug Soles coaches now) just beat all of the best Utah teams today. Two of their 3-5 didn’t even run their best today.
Obviously they got a strong 1-2 punch but if their 3-4-5 are on they could beat Great Oak and maybe even podium at NXN.
Doug would probably be embarrassed if his team loses to a team coached by someone with almost no coaching experience
Will be nice to see the speed ratings of this race. Belen’s times at positions 3-5 were not far off yesterday. Belen returns everyone next year.
Farragut race is on TullyRunners. They do seem to have run a little better than both Brentwood and Belen Jesuit did for a first race with little competition.
