Checked the other week and tried dm’ing dye stat on ig but no reply
Could be wrong, but it seems like they decided to just link to the times on athletic.net for rankings.
There are now here for this year:
Huge Southern CA bias on the CA rankings. I think they forgot about the rest of the state.
Most of the top California teams haven’t raced each other last season so it’s hard to compare all of them.

These are preseason ranking. So it would be before anyone raced anyone.

So nine southern california schools are mentioned and the one that is mentioned in northern california is del oro? They probably aren't in the top 5 in northern california. This was a lazy ranking.
So after Woodbridge they should just pull down their preseason rankings. How bad they got the CA rankings is embarrassing for them.
Incredibly wrong already. Belen Jesuit FL got spanked by Viera HS FL
There also seems to be a lot of MN bias in the Heartland boys rankings. Can’t believe that Sioux City North from IA wasn’t even listed in the Watchlist. They won the IA state meet last year and returned their 2-6. Before the season started I thought they had a good chance to autoqualify for NXN.
I think that so far, Millard West and Sioux City North are the best 2 based on the Speed Ratings from the Heartland Classic.
Stevens Point and Homestead from WI will be solid too when they’re at full strength but no speed ratings from them yet.
Also 2nd in the Southwest is a little too high for Corner Canyon UT. They lost 2 strong senior classes in a row. Farmington and Cheyenne Mountain are better than them

-North Allegheny won state last year, returned everyone, added a freshman that leads the team, haven’t lost a meet, and yet they are not even in the top 5 in the Northeast.
-I’m surprised that Viera is not in the top 5 in the Southeast. They should be up there with Belen Jesuit Prep. I would take out Severna Park. Their 4-5 gap is pretty big.
-Mountain View UT should be higher than American Fork in the Southwest rankings based on the Utah Pre-State Meet.
-The reason why Cheyenne Mountain lost to Valor Christian and are ranked so low is because at Liberty Bell, CM sat out 3 of their top 7, which made their 4-5 gap big. On Friday, all top 7 Cheyenne Mountain boys, Farmington, American Fork, and Mountain View will be racing at the Border Wars.
-Not sure if Mountain Vista should be ranked #1 in the region after losing to Niwot, even when missing one of their top guys Owen Nolan.
-Millard West should probably be #1 in the Heartland region. They not only have the highest speed ratings in the region, but they are also 7-deep, meaning that if one of their 4-7 has an off day, it won’t hurt them at all.
-The Roy Griak meet should fix up the Heartland rankings a little bit. All of the current Dyestat top 5 boys Heartland teams will be racing there except for Millard West and Stevens Point.

how does Michalak drop by running the second fastest 5K in the country? And where the heck is Cheeseman? Kid just runs fast and wins. Also, dont sleep on Ellie Shea. She has Jenna Hutchins potential. There I said it...
Cheeseman is in the Watchlist.
Brentwood girls had a 32 second 1-5 spread and speed ratings ranged from 117 to 106. And yet they’re not in the SE top 5. Quite a surprise. They had better speed ratings and compression than Dyestat SE #1 Weddington. So I’d put Brentwood up with them.
I guess I don’t know if they look at the Speed ratings.
All CA rankings still forgetting half the State. Should be “Southern CA” rankings.
IMG Academy girls are ranked 3rd in the SE, but they lost to a FL team not in these rankings last weekend.
Carly McNatt will open up her season at Desert Twilight but they are still missing Ward/David/Siff-Scherr. No clue when they will come back.

If an individual or team is ranked in California’s Southern Section then they are one of the best in the USA.
I’m from Northern California and the Southern Section is by far superior. There is no bias, it just a fact. The Southern Section has around 12 to 15 million people in it. It more populated than most states.
In Northern California you have Central Coast, North Coast, San Francisco, Oakland and Sac-Joaquin section in about the same land size of the Southern Section ( which doesn’t include the San Diego Section).
No section in the USA can compare to California’s Southern Section. It just to massive.
It’s not lazy rankings, it’s just that the Southern Section is that good.
