I think we'll find out over the span in about 10 days when he races in Zurich. Was he past his peak or is he just not great on a super fast last lap? He certainly didn't look great on a super fast last lap in the prelims.
The fact of the matter is the Kenyans could just as well be saying, how could world leader, the guy who won our kenyan trials not even medal? They aren't saying it because their other three guys went 1-2-3.

Kemboi rules championship races. Of course he's won a world title in 801 before as well so it's hard to beat him in that type of race as well but 811 is handing him gold as that's basically an 820 jog with a crushing last lap.
