He also had a crap performance under much better conditions at Pan Ams. My guess is that he peaked in the spring and his legs are dead at this point.
The whole thing with asthma medication struck me as a little off, as well - as someone said at the time, he's a terrible liar. Probably feels a little guilty about the dodgy things going on at NOP and it may have affected his performance, doped or not.

I've raced about 20 times with and without ventolin (8k xc...half mar) and found no difference in my time and placing compared to friends.
The only diff was that ventolin made me jittery as hell with heart palps, and if I didn't take ventolin I was sometimes phlegmy and a bit tight in the airways, but not enough to affect my race. Maybe racing 1500-5000 intensity might be worse...or racing in high humidity/pollution.
