Ok, how much are you willing to bet? Not a joke as I'm seriously interested in betting you as I believe he won't medal. Please respond if you're serious.

No way Mo loses. It's going to be very warm, humid weather, and that will likely mean no fast pace. I'm guessing a 27:16 or so will win it.
Would love to see Rupp have a strong race and medal. Maybe being rested and under-raced this year will benefit him. He seems confident in his strength. His best chance is a long drive to the finish, and not letting the pace drag in that 5th mile. Rupp also needs to be tenacious in not getting dropped on that final 800 if he wants a chance at a medal.
Re-watch the 2003 World Championships 10000m during the Paris Heatwave. Sub-13 second-half to go into the high 26s

It may take a true great to pull it off but as a spectator I'd love to see someone like Wamworor take it out hard enough to force Farah to make a decision, say by running the first few miles at world record pace. Honestly, I think this is the only way to beat Farah: make it clear from the gun that you are running suicidal and hitting a pace he is afraid to match. Once clear, you ease off a bit and hope no one wants to rabbit the chase pack.
That would be a recipe for failure.
The best way is to get clear and then continue to run hard through the finish.

Even better is to run a new world record. Gives you an EXCELLENT chance to medal.

Please refrain from the whiskey when you are writing , you just places double World, Olympic and European champion 4th
I just can't take you seriously at all , maybe maybe after Bejiin you and the others around here will start showing some respect to the legendary Mo Farah
So is the live of this at 5:15 am?

Okay, I don't see a thread for the 10,000W.
Molly Huddle FTW.

Maybe Rupp finally puts it together and beats Mo. Nah.

Excellent tactical insight. This is what the Kenyans should do.
Although I guess they're just going to let a stronger runner beat them AGAIN. Never happens to me, I always beat everyone by having superior tactics. I once beat a 7.35 3k runner through going hard from the start (my pr is 9.23), not allowing his kick to have its DEVASTATING effect.
Can / Will / How to beat Farah in Beijing...
My bet is gold in the 10k, silver in the 5k.

NIce preview article, but Let's Run does not make much of a case for picking Edris for a medal. What do we know about his guy over 10,000?
Rupp is for sure a question mark, and he'll answer on Saturday. I would not be too surprised if he gets a medal. I would not be too surprised if he did not.
Would I like to see Galen Rupp medal? Heck yes!
LetsRun are assuming this will be a 27:15 race allowing Edris to come in and steal 3rd from the field. However, I think Kamworor and Karoki will push the pace hard and only Mo will be able to hang on to them. Reminiscent of how Tadese vs Bekele ran it out at the 2009 WC 10000m.
I agree about Farah and Kamworor, but feel that Bedan Karoki or Paul Tanui will get 3rd.
I also wouldn't be shocked if Rupp DNF'ed

he is no threat unless a crawl
he was in x-c earlier & Kamwo crushed him with a surge not much after 1/2-way
if i had to bet, he probably is a 26'45- 26'50 in a "perfect" race in brussels/hengelo
if hard pace for a few km, that will give get him nowhere in today's race

The competitors in the this race is not the same group in the 2003, and the Africans have shown no ability in the past two years to run a coordinated, disciplined race to beat Farah.
I still say the weather will be factor, and the first half of the race will not be faster 13:40.
