A good double for a baby jogger is 4 miles in the a.m. and maybe a 10 mile tempo run in the p.m. Be sure to stretch the little one before and after every run. Also, cut back the mileage during the winter months when the snow may accumulate well above their tiny heads. Good Luck.
Let me know because my daughter needs one to accomodate her baby and her husband.
I have used one of these and it was probably the best baby related investment our family ever made as my husband and I both run and live near a park that we use often. Our twins are now 5 and I will somewhat reluctantly part with the jogger this Spring. Back when we bought it (1998), it is the Twinner II Baby Jogger brand, it was around $300, a little less maybe.
I used it during my main runs/workouts when the babies were 3-24 months (about 3 marathons worth). As they grew, it obviously gets harder, but if you do it regularly you might not notice until you return from an extended break from pushing. The Baby Jogger brand can hold up to 100 pounds. I have not used it in several months, maxing out at about 70lbs. total kid weight.
I understand that the current version of what we have is now closer $400, but it has more bells and whistles than ours.
I definitely recommend the large wheels. If it is going to be your only stroller, there are brands that fold, but I don't think the Twinner does. Check the Baby Jogger website. Also, you might want to check used sporting goods stores. I believe it is an item that people might get for a baby shower and then use very little. Even ask around at work or within your running club.
Check around on ebay and in secondhand baby stores. My mother-in-law gave us a nice model (don't know which) that she found for $100 and it is barely used. It runs better than our In-Step 5k single-kid jogger which was $120 new.
Who cares? I have no children, or none that I know of. Go to RW with that question. Kids are like a lead weight.
What is the baby jogger website? Can you give a url?
>>Check the Baby Jogger website.
Unless you can find one pre-owned, double joggers go for over $450.
In all seriousness, the topic of this thread makes me sick. I am filled with disgust after seeing the subject line for this crazed crap.
Stop this nonsense now. To buy in to the Joggers' World hype.
Perhaps you are right, I am sorry for bringing it up. I will focus on making sure my kids can spell correctly and construct a sentence.
And while you are "making sure" your kids can spell correctly and contruct a sentence, be sure to teach them about proper message board posting techniques. Your tehnique clearly is to empahsize the trivial and embrace the mediocre so long as you take your message board posts seriously.

contra, your user name is much too polite. you spoil for a fight and where there is none, you create one. and, no, i don't want to take you on...you're too clever, big and smart for me.
amazingly, there are people in this world that actually want and use these babby joggers. if you think this thread is lame...you must be a huge fan of catman, Ah, Mr Chest et al. have a nice one!
