Being a long time fan of the sport I have loved how the sport has grown the last few years. But it's gotten to the point where I feel like every time I get on here there is negative press with doping, usatf, fights etc... I thought old Letsrun would have praised this guy for breaking 4 minutes and given him some love for his dream becoming reality. Chasing a dream until you are 28 is what it's all about.

Moderators let's get back to dream chasing!
Where dreams come true? 28 yr old breaks 4 mins for first time

I don't know but running for 4 minutes is great! Pretty soon he'll be ready for his first 5k! Then who knows, maybe onto the half marathon ... -
Why was he crying? 4 minutes isn't that big of a deal.
-
what is his mile progression each year?

After hearing all the stories about people battling back from cancer (Lance and a few others) is there a chance that drugs they give you when you are sick can be performance enhancers years later?

6 comments and 5 of them are negative. This place is a toxic cesspool. Good for Hudgins for doing it.

I'll second that. Isn't that kinda what the OP mentioned? Bad press and bad attitudes. You guys are trolls with no real purpose. Go run a few more miles and try to better yourselves. -
The guy gets my respect .

I can't believe you people. I posted this to brighten up the message board and promote a positive story in a very dark time in our sport and you all can't get your heads out of the sand and actually say something positive.

Many people here had the same dream but failed to achieve it so they can't bear seeing others succeed. They gave up. As for me I'm 26 and still running so I find this inspirational. -
Thanks for sharing this video.

You didn't tell the whole story. If you know the whole story, including fighting for his life in a manner reminiscent of Lance, merely running sub-4 at age 28 doesn't quite cover it:

If you know the whole story and you still put up negative crap, you deserve to be sent straight to hell. Brandon deserves a lot better than what I see above. -

And you did. It's not your fault that the place is crawling with envious little people who are threatened by someone's accomplishments and whose only reaction is to belittle that person and their accomplishment(s.) Stories like this will always make the sport worthwhile regardless of the twits who see them. -
So this dude works like 40+ hours a week to chase a childhood dream. I'm jealous. Someone get this guy a sponsor. How can no one believe in this story. Truly inspirational.

Congratulations Brandon!

But did he look relaxed?
