Oh man! Looks like that means that Kara Goucher is officially the silver medalist! I'm glad Jo Pavey is gonna get the medal she truly deserves to have, even though it's 8 years later.
It could mean that Pavey will be the silver medalist behind Dibaba.

We better be hearing some big names that are part of these 28 not some token athletes. We all know some big names were doping back then.

I was going to suggest this a few days ago but feared repercussions.
You have to admit, it would be an interesting way for the summer of doping allegations to come full circle.
You notice the article says "at least" bronze for Pavey. There is no way in hell the IAAF would ever let Dibaba take a fall.

How is it that the Ethiopians are not getting popped
Has hermens got a big influence
Hell, let's just give the gold to Pavey, she is the top tier of those athletes who are too slow to arouse drug suspicion.

Funny how the Daily Mail feels the need to clarify that Coe is the one on the left in the picture!!! Thanks for that.

Didn't the initial report state that none of the 28 were competing at Beijing? I interpreted that as none of them were still around or planning to compete; does it actually mean that that there are still a few around but they won't be allowed to compete?

Tomashova is 40 yrs old and entered on Russia's 1500m squad for Beijing.
The news report stated: "A large majority of the 28 are retired, some are athletes who have already been sanctioned, and only very few remain active in sport. The IAAF is provisionally suspending them and can confirm that none of the athletes concerned will be competing in Beijing."
So based on this report, I interpret it to mean that any of the athletes who are implicated AND still active, will be banned from competing in Beijing.
So, the question remains, will Tomashova be pulled from the Russian 1500m team?
Will all of these names be officially released to the public (not just "leaked" to the Daily Mail)?
Or will we just have to guess from the people who withdrew due to "injury" who is actually banned?
Abeylegesse done for stanozolol apparently
Favorite drug with the turks

I don't think it works that way. This was retest of 2005 and 2007 WC results for banned drugs using improved techniques and Abeylegesse gets removed from the 2007 WC.
For Flanagan to get an upgrade, they'd need to retest the 2008 Olympics results. They probably will in 2-3 years time and if Abeylegesse tests positive again, then she gets another set of results annulled.
But perhaps she wasn't taking that same drug in 2008 and nothing else that they can detect either, then no additional results annulled.
