I wish that was it, but I just started running again this spring. After 10 years of not focusing on running (cycled for a while, played some other sports, etc), the itch was finally strong enough that I got myself running 6 or 7 times a week consistently. I never raced longer than the 800, so outside a few garbage XC seasons, my weekly milage has never been very high. I'm up about 50km/wk now, which on the one hand is way better than I was doing four months ago, but on the other hand feels pretty pathetic considering this is my "base" phase. I have no desire to run 5ks, 10ks, or marathons, but I'd love to be race the 800 or mile next year, even if I'm not very competitive. If I can't convince myself to run more than 30 miles a week, though, I don't know how successful I'll be.
Even in high school, the racing was mostly what enticed me, not the running, but the team aspect made the running tolerable. Now that I don't have that it's just a slog.
