Is someone replacing True on the 10,000 team?
Lauren Fleshman won a DL 5000.
Hill has beaten True only twice. Both times at US nationals (2013 and 2015) after True ran the 10,000m earlier, and Hill was fresh.
No way Hill beats a fresh True at Worlds. True is World Class, takes down Kenyans. Hill is a fantastic US Championships racer...kudos to him, but not in the same class.
I agree with earlier poster. Farah is the only one above all others. On a good day, True can hang with anyone else in the World. Podium vs top 6 will be close and it will depend on who has positioning at final turn.
Also, ZERO chance Rupp is faster than True after running the 10,000 and the 5,000 heats. ZERO.

I'll remember this post when you're wrong, plus True has to run the 5k heats too
Rupp has insane recovery
Rupp >>> True

EPO is a beautiful thing.
Oh, and where was his "insane" recovery at the U.S. championships? Did he over eat on Ryan Hill and Ben True's dust?
True.......coming on strong..... but a few folks need to have bad races, be sick or fall during the race for Ben to medal.
Didn't Ben pull out of Beach to Beacon because of fatigue? How is that coming on strong?

He set the American 5K road record in April. The record. Not a world record, but still. Not sure why nobody likes to mention that. Even at the BAA 10K they shied away from talking about it. The AMERICAN record. Better than Lagat, anybody in the US.
actually, it was not better than Lagat.
Lagat ran 13:19 in the Carlsbad 5000 in 2014, but after remeasurement for records, it was found that a cone was misplaced and the course was 13.5 ft short. Even running as slow as 4:30/mi, 13.5ft would take 0.69 seconds. So a conservative estimate for Lagat's true 5k time is 13:20.
Ben True ran 13:22.
Now you can all sleep at night
He has no chance! Maybe if he learned how to recover and take care of his body he wouldn't be so tired and a good race.
