As someone who recently started going to yoga classes, I found this to be interesting:
"“Shortly after joining my coach, Brother Colm O'Connell, I was introduced to a form of yoga called Sun Salute. I still regularly practise it today and I think it has been a big part of my success. Sun Salute really helps my stability and flexibility and my overall balance.”
Anyone know what Sun Salue yoga is?

Who knew - David Rudisha is a regular practicer of Sun Salute yoga - It "really helps my stability and flexibility"

No but I do know how to google -
Interesting. I remember hearing somewhere that Brother Colm consulted some gymnastics coaches to help Rudisha with body awareness and control, maybe they're going for the same kind of thing with this.

Salue or Salute??

Sun Salutations are just a very common yoga sequence. They can vary slighty but fundamentally they are the same. Fantastic for flexibility. It's very common in many forms of Hatha yoga.

Many Kenyans do Yoga (I think they do it in Schools) and it's incredible for your stride and overall well being. The letsrun mantra that runners should never stretch is based on those ridiculous studies sighting temporary reduction in muscle power. Tell me how many sprinters are stiff and tight? Almost none and they are a heck of a lot more powerful than distances runners. Elite distance runners have incredible strides and range of motion, yoga is perfect for accentuating this. -
Exactamundo, Salutations are just a sequence of poses done as a single flow. There are several different sequences. They are not a type of yoga on their own. They are often used to start the day (hence the name) or to start a session as a warm up.
