The first 3 are people the country can truly root for.
However, what really can inspire this country is an actual winner in the Olympic marathon. Frank Shorter started an unbelievable craze and now, with the crossfit craze and half marathon craze, we would be "striking while the iron is hot"
My 2c
Which Americans, not what Americans.
Andrews - because let's face it -- if he's there with 300 to go, that'l be the most exciting race of the champs.
True - we know he's there with the best and he just needs smart racing and a little luck.
Jager - best in the world? we want the gold and nothing but.
Sowinski & Loxsom - Neither is likely but you gottta have a favorite in the 800.
I agree with this guy or girl. A healthy Coburn will be formidable. Jager seems ready. Tough going for Jenny, but I bet she bounces back.
I wish I could root for Rowbury, but team NOP just makes me cringe
Aries Merritt, Allyson Felix, Ryan Lochte
D'Agostino by far, not sure how realistic that is at this point but rooting for her
Ashton Eaton
Allyson Felix
Ajee Wilson
Jenny Simpson
Shannon Rowbury
Molly Huddle
Matthew Centrowitz
Robby Andrews
Galen Rupp
Ben True

Whoops. Forgot to put Evan Jäger
Jager (IMO our best hope for a gold)
Kovacs (Clean Shotput WR holder)
Kynard (hopefully gets the American Record, and we see him in the 2.40s with Barshim and Bondarenko)
Verbing wierds nouns!

I never root against our boys and girls, but the three guys that I'm least interested in seeing succeed:
1. Justin Gatlin
2. Tyson Gay
3. Matt Centrowitz
F_ck off kid
Any of our Californians would do. Allyson Felix, English Gardner, Joe Kovacs, Shannon Rowberry, Jenna Prandini, WIll Claye, Brenda Martinez, Andre De Grasse [Canada], dozens more,,,
Amy Hastings,
I think she can do it. I can see her running a 221 marathon.

Evan Jager obviously
USC's Jesse Williams
As long as Gatlin DOESN'T medal every single other medal can go to the US for all I care.
Justin Gatlin
