A rare gem of a letsrun thread. Runners helping another runner out.
I'll build on what someone said above about the stroller. It's a win win, you give your wife a chance to nap, clean, etc. And you get a run in. Do that enough on your easy days and its a great compromising chip when you want to go do a harder run without the stroller. I have a Bob revolution se and love it. Havent tried the SUV mentioned above but if its 1000 times better than it must weigh nothing and have frictionless bearings, because the revolution is great. I did a marathon when my little guy was 11 months old. He was with me on runs about 3 days a week. Giving that time to my wife made it that much easier to ask for 2-3 hours on Sundays. Training for Chicago now and have taken him on one long run. It's tough and you have to watch your form (including in your wrist), but it makes it easy to bring along fuel.
Hardest period for running was between my wife going back to work at 3 months and about 4-6 months when he was sturdy enough to be in the infant carseat attachment for the bob at running speed.
