Pump the brakes there. Rowbury got 6th. Pretty far from a medal and about in line with what the top american female usually does the 1500 6-8th place. It's nice but not that special. A WC gold and WC silver and 2 American records trumps that.

Shannon said the sport has it's ups and downs. She explained why the years in question were down years for her
Jenny never brought up 2012 in her interview which was a down year for her so Shannon brought that up to support her point
Flash forward to 2015 and Shannon breaks a 31 year old American Record out kicking Jenny in the process

This rivalry is definitely a good thing, I'm rooting for Jenny but impressed by Rowbury breaking the record!
I would say almost identical caliber runners, but Jenny has proven to have better finishing tools or better championship race instincts, and Shannon a higher (5000 meter) range. One has an American record at 1500, the other has a World Championship Gold.
Now that a super elite African woman has dropped down to run the 1500, Shannon and Jenny have a lot more to worry about than each other. If others follow in Dibaba's footsteps, and more 14:10-14:35 5K women run the 1500, the landscape will change dramatically.

Yes, being the Diamond Race champ is a tough thing to do. Don't forget that Morgan Uceny did it first. She would have had a Worlds medal in '11 and an Olympic medal in '12 had she not fallen. I would argue that those medals would have been more impressive than Jenny's haul.

Those two ideas have nothing to do with eachother. You seem to imply that SR's 6th was actually better because of doping but refuse to acknowledge that doping may have pushed other americans in prior years down. Thus the claim that her 6th is special is false.
Also if wada cleaned house after '12 why didn't SR really clean up?
I want to see these two in a punching match. That's all.
