I can't copy/paste from my tablet but it should be easy to google the 10,000m start list on the Pan Am website. Says their father swam for PR in the Pan Ams. Are they still eligible to represent US in the future?

They could (example, Diego Estrada), but they would have to declare for the US. A triathlete, Manny Huerta, has also switched from USA to PR.
Don't they have red hair?? Lmao

Yes, they look more Scottish/ Irish than Spanish. Good luck to them.
Their dad Larry swam on the national team for his native country Puerto Rico.

The remarkable thing isn't that they are running for PR, the remarkable thing is that they are running at all

Well, they aren't Spanish, they're Puerto Rican. I'm not sure if you understand the difference. I'm not sure which rock you're living under but there are red headed Puerto Ricans. There are even red headed Italians and Jews (gasp!). Grow up moron.

I doubt either one will have to worry much about representing the usa in the future anyway. Really don't think either would ever have a chance of making a us team
I never knew they were anything but white boy Americans. Live and learn, I guess.

PR is not a country

Wow! Somebody is grumpy. I think it is fairly obvious that the original comment about red hair involved a simple stereotype about heritage that you would expect a Puerto Rican to have darker olive complexion.
Similarly, when you hear 'Kenyan' you do NOT expect the white swimmer who carried the flag at the Commonwealths. He was of British descent. So, really, YOU are the moron to not realize that the previous posters were simply referring to heritage and ancestry. Almost all of the Central and Southern American countries were founded and settled by the Spanish and Portuguese.
That is just basic sociology and anthropology.
Find someone to hug and have a nice day.
"So, really, YOU are the moron to not realize that the previous posters were simply referring to heritage and ancestry."
-not even close to a good attempt at recovery. You sounded like a knob from your original post, and your ensuing reply really sealed it.
I think the poster is noting how silly it is to rely on stereotypes since, for example, there was a somewhat significant Irish emigration to Puerto Rico, just as there were more than a few Germans who went to Mexico, Italians who went to Argentina and Chile, etc. etc.
But yeah, keep protecting our stereotypes, please.

Smartass, many Spanish and Portuguese people are redheads... Especially in the Galicia region.
I don't know what kind of Puerto Ricans you know but Puerto Ricans range from milk-white to brown to black, they are triracial.
Yea, it kind of reminds me of that Black World Class Swimmer from Iceland!

Dude, seriously though, if they run for Puerto Rico then that's awesome! More power to them and best of luck! But honestly, if I were sitting there in the stands and someone leaned over and said, "Hey, see if you can pick out the brothers from Belfast" - I'd probably point to them first!
Yeah, yeah, anyone is racist who notices dominant differences in appearances between folks from various places. But can we please get back to PR not being a country ???
No, no, ya got it all wrong! The Rosa brothers are running for PRs. Now if people merely used "PB" for "personal best" rather than "PR" for "personal record," this dustup could have been avoided.

Wasn't Racheal Marchand the last American to run for PR? She ended up testing positive for EPO, along with several of her teammates. Should we assume the Rosa's will go the same route?
