Still beating Koech by 9 seconds with a 55 last lap?

Unless he has the balls the current Kenyan and Ethiopian runners lack he will be running for 2nd to Mo
I am surprised by the overwhelming assumption that GK will be running 5000m in Beijing. For your information, he is only running the 10000m and has no intention to double at all. The just concluded track meet was just the national championships and the World Championship Trials will be held at the end of this month, where GK will be running only the 10000m and aim for a top three finish(team selection). The only reason that he ran in the heats way faster than he needed to qualify for the final, was to see how well he can crush the field. He knows very well that in Beijing, 10000m will be straight finals, and his tactics fitting for that scenario. The fact he came back and still ran very fast in the final shows that if he was running just a straight 5000m final, he probably would have run somewhere in the region of 13'00" - 13'05" or even faster. So just remember Kamworor, though capable of medaling, is not running 5000m at Worlds.

Also, running approx thirty seconds faster in the heat than what he needed to qualify for the final does not imply a well developed tactical mind. I fear in Beijing he'll run 12:55 in the heat and wears himself out.

He ran just as fast the next day. Didn't wear himself out.

Plus with a 55 second last lap.
