No, you were watching tv. ON tv, the clock was approaching 3:00 when they stopped showing the runners and the bell rang. Then they switched to an overhead view and went back in time as the runners hadnt' yet crossed the bell. It was clearly a tv glitch. But at that time, the clock read 3:03. I bet that's when Hutchings hit his watch.
