Not that women's soccer is great to watch, but it's better than watching men's soccer because -
- they flop a lot less
- there is some eye candy
- less cheating, drugs and scandals?
- they act more mature than the men who behave like a 5th grader in the middle of a temper tantrum
Women's Soccer is Better to Watch than Mens

That's not saying much. Anything is better than men's soccer.

Agreed! -
Perhaps to the simple-minded, who lack the ability to appreciate the beautiful game.

US women had their temper tantrums in some of the round robin games. When you are up by 4 in the first 20 minutes, not going to be as vocal when call goes the other way. -

I agree with everything except the scandal thing. Hope Solo is probably the biggest troublemaker in all of American soccer. Just over a year ago she was banging her nephew's head into the concrete floor of her half-sister's garage. This winter she and her husband went on a drunken joy ride in a U.S. soccer van. -
I thought we were talking about soccer.

Thank you. Do you have any opinions on anything else that you know nothing about? -
Meyer talked about the crucial moves she made to turn around Yahoo:
1. Gathered a talented team, unified them to work together, and revd up the engines (check)
2. Positioned the company and turned them in a direction for growth (check)
3. Removed all barriers (check?)
4. The next step is to take your hands off the wheel and let your cars drive themselves. Remove any barriers so that they can go as fast as they can. Only intervene if they are going off path. -
Not really. Top level (NOT MLS)mens soccer is the gold standard by a long way. Women just do not have the speed and power (or skill, yet)for truly impressive football.
However, it is refreshing to watch a game like todays because, if you have watched the mens game all your life, you get used to a certain pattern of play and the women, perhaps because of physical limitations, sometimes do things different in terms of the passing game, especially in midfield. It also seems to me that the percentage of volleys hit correctly seem higher than men, maybe because the ball is travelling slower its easier to gauge. Dunno.
Contrast with tennis where the guys were more entertaining at first, then got all obnoxious and too fast, so for a short period the women were much more entertaining, then the women also got even more obnoxious (grunting etc)and too fast too, so neither are as telegenic as they were. -
As an American, womens soccer is better to watch because we are relevant every world cup and every olympic year. That being said, the men are taking steps in the right direction. They have played really well internationally as of late.

Can't take my eyes off Alex Morgan and Sara Dabritz. Top players and cute too.
If all the women's teams evolve to play a complete game, like France have, then it'll be even better to watch them.
I hope they don't go down the same route as the men, flopping to the ground like wimps every two minutes, swearing at the refs etc.
Just wished women's footie got more coverage coz I'd watch it. Same with rugby. -
Soccer is mostly a series of intelligent passes and runs to advance the ball and the forwards to a good scoring position in front of the goal, and then kick it 30 meters into the air and out of bounds.
Every once in a while someone manages not to panic and makes a shot on goal. -
Way to go women! I'm honored to work with you.

I'm going to disagree entirely, in the women's game the ball spends entirely too much time in the air through quick. errant long passes. The men's game, when played correctly by skilled players, is about accurate short passing and build-up play until a goal scoring opportunity can be created. I can't recall watching a single women's team play possession.

To begin with, the physcial discrepancies between the players are much larger in women's soccer than in men's. The entire US team was a half step faster than the German team and a foot or two taller than the Japanese team. For US and JP, it looked to me like two different age group teams were playing. The JP team could try to play possession, but they were overmatched physically.
That said, I though France played some nice soccer and were the second-best team of the tourney. It would have been nice to have seen a US/France final. -
Debating the merits of women' soccer vs men's soccer is like debating being burned at the stake vs being boiled in oil. They both suck.
-
Women's sports no matter the sport is less athletic, less speed, less skill.

Quite how a 5'9" 150 pound woman can physically punch a 6'9, 270lb man and hold him down banging his head into the floor is beyond me. This wasn't mentioned by the Obert's in th original police report or at the hospital the next day.
She was drunk and abusive towards police officers and jail staff and it should have been investigated by US Soccer. -
Gotta say, I agree. Women's soccer and women's tennis are both much better to watch than men's. I prefer men's basketball and baseball, though. (I enjoy both for track.)
