Supposedly Alan Webb has been seen in Boulder. Anyone?
it wasn't really a time trial. he was racing pre's ghost. (the ghost won - 1:46-high.)
Yeah, I heard the same thing- about Boulder too. A pretty reliable source said something about that. I guess the 1:47 might be true. I'll bet he's in at least 3:58 shape. Bling bling.
It was more like 1:49 low. He did have on some of the sweetest Nike spikes I have ever seen. Definate that those will not be for sale any time soon...
He looks good. Very strong; His coach could use a few miles on the roads and few less french fries.
Jimmy, I've heard he was last seen at a Burger King or White Castle or Rally's or Whataburger in Kalamazoo! His coach was in a hurry so AW ran thru the drive-thru in about 1:49. Coach loves those fries.
If any if these times are true, then that is huge progress from not breaking 1:50-51 while at U-M.
His coach seems to know his stuff.
Sorry, Webb is not in Boulder.
And I doubt he's run another time trial 2 weeks after the first. I think he's TRAINING.
But the stuff about the french fries might be true.
Actually, I was THERE, in the arena when he ran, and can verify he did infact, run,
1min39.43 after coach told him to go through in 52, and bring it home QUOTE "hard"
Alan was in fact wearing Nike Span Triax training shoes, and a crowd of enthusiastic Japenese fans were instructed to wave big white hankies at the top of the home straight in order to create a 3ms-1 head wind that proceded to create a headwind the whole way as to make Alan work harder. He appeared pleasantly tired after the run, and then did a workout - 6x200 in 22.5-23.0 with 20 seconds rest, Joaquim Cruz style.
Thus proving that Alan Webb is much better than Ritz, and even boofed Ritz's mom, cause she was there watching too.
I swear my training partner saw Webb doing uphill striders off of Boulder Creek Path at 30th St and Canyon. A few miles later, she saw Woody Allen on the same path. May have been running a bit too hard, though.
They stopped by Good Times afterwards.

Any more jabs you would like to take at Warhurst/UM. You sure do like to rip on the Maize and Blue. The training didn't seem to bother Nate running 1:46 after being injured. But hey, Nate believed and had confidence in the training. I think you have beat the subject to death.
Somehow I don't think the coaching was the problem...but hey, we all know your opinion won't change ttc.
Webb's coach has proven himself. Onlything Warhurst has proven is that he don't care how many of his runners are injured. Proof is in the pudding--as they say.
We have a verified sighting of Webb in Boulder.
Not sure about Boulder, the French Fries or his previous coaches but one things for sure....
Alan Webb's presence at the Footlocker Nationals was an inspiration. Although not the most blessed public speaker (that will come with time), he is very personable, down to earth, loves the sport and is more than willing to go out of his way and indulge his fans. The guys and gals from the South Team will never, ever forget that Alan Webb was their co-Captain and for a few days, one of them, as long as they live. With the aura surrounding the greatest high school miler in our country's history so fresh, it was great to see Alan live up to his high billing by being such a great guy in San Diego.
Nike got a great role model when they signed him.
Is Webb completely bald yet? He looked like my dad at the Pre Classic a couple of years ago.
Webb is definitely not in Boulder and a I know for a fact that the coach prefers krispy kreme over fries.

You're kidding, right?
Please catman, tell us you're kidding. 23 even 33, but please not 43. If so it's time for you to perform the Sundance in a fatal manner.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
