WR gone if they hit ~4:30 last 1600
WR gone if they hit ~4:30 last 1600
Definitely an erratic race, but my question is why does the announcer keep called Genzebe by her sister Tirunesh's name?
Not going to happen. They need a 2:07
Holy $hit dibaba just got shot out of a cannon, shes gone.
Just terrible announcing... the guy says Ayana gets passed for second when she lapped someone on the last lap. He says 14:15 is the second fastest in history - more like the second fastest this year.
14:15. 61 last lap I think. 4th fastest in history
14:15 for dibaba.
Proper pacing I think she does it.
14:15 for Genzebe, way out in front. Her own fault for not taking it on before the last lap though - likely would've had WR.
Both are definitely hugely capable of breaking the WR; they just need normal splits. But what a finish from Genzebe Dibaba.
can't stand these sit and kick races
They listed it as a meet record, but it was a PB for Genzebe, dropping down from 14:18, wasn't it?

Yes, a 4 second pr beating her 14:19 from Pre this year.
The erratic laps destroyed any chances of a WR. They needed even pacing.
I think Genzebe definitely was ready today, cooler temp and better pacing would have done it.
I hope one day Tirunesh would do her sister the favor by pacing for a WR attempt for Genzebe.
Totally disagree. Instead of lollygagging she could've taken it herself. From 1000 out probably would've been enough, instead of hitting last laps of 70 and 61, could've picked it up by 1s from 1000 to 800 and then hit 64 64 for a WR.
Powell closes the meet with a 9.81. Vicaut with a huge result of 9.86! PR by .09 and beating Lemaitre's french record.
Evening out her kilometer splits gives 14:06
Jagar fell, and lost. Boo
These Africans respect Jager because of the way he runs. He doesn't try to just suck fast times on their backs but runs hard to win with guts. Nothing but respect for Jager from this guy.

Uhh, this is the first race that Jager took it to the field. In every other Diamond League race he was hoovered to his times.
