Althea. Without question or debate. Never gets old.
This performance of Rain And Snow.
What, I'm the only one picking Uncle John's Band?

Q: "What did the 2 guys say at the Grateful Dead concert when they ran out of pot?"
A: "Man, this music sucks."

The grateful dead were a cultural juggernaut as long as they could maintain their traveling drug circus. It all vaporized immediately with jerry's death. They were a shitty band, left no worthy legacy, and were quickly forgotten.
I wasn't a big Dead fan but I am surprised no one mentioned "Truckin" yet. I liked that song.
Hardly forgotten, BW. After all, you're still posting about them.
All their music sounded the same - boring.
Dark Star, especially the Dark Star into St Stephen jams
Toss up between Ripple and Touch of Grey!
Currently it's Ramble On Rose. Loser is up there. Love some of the older more up beat Deals.
Honestly, whenever I put in a Dead show, I find that I'm loving almost every song.
Hell in a Bucket.
Today, 'Tennessee Jed', but tomorrow, who knows?
Drums > Space
Black Muddy River
Truckin'!

Lots of deadhead runners out there. What are some favorites? Easy to like Bertha, just from the opening line "I had a hard run..." But tons of great ones. What you got? Personally, too many to list, but fascinated to hear what others think.

Loser's another great one. Always reminded me of Bret Harte's short story The Outcasts of Poker Flat. Also love To Lay Me Down from that same album (Garcia). Robert Hunter's lyrics are second to none.
While it's hard to pick a fave, I saw the simulcast of the first Chicago show in a theater last night, and the best tunes of the night were Scarlet Begonias and Franklin's Tower, both in the 2nd set. Both were total SLAM DUNKS! Trey stepped up and knocked it out of the park. Hornsby was superb. Billy was just ripping up his kit.
Just loved it, and the camera work and sound was superb! You're on stage with the lads!
Anyone reading this, I highly recommend going tonight (July 4 ) or tomorrow to the simulcast in a local movie theater if it's available in your area. You'll be delighted.
This Hell In a Bucket from the other night is really really good.
Trey gets into a nice solo in the 6 minute mark and Bobby's trying to reel him in at 6:50. Phil is loving it.
They need to let Trey run with it.
China Cat Sunflower --> I know you rider, Mississippi Half-Step/Uptown Tootaloo, New MInglewood Blues, Estimated Prophet, Jack Straw, Sugar Magnolia Sunshine Daydream, Eyes of the World, Alligator, Catfish John.... you can't pick favorite
