"People (including one of the higher-profile female participant subjects recently receiving significant attention) are arguing over nebulous topics, confused about what is actually meant by the term "clean sport" with regard to 'professional' T&F Athletics as presented on TV to the public at large.
"Today's T&F "Sport", cumulatively geared toward a TV presentation of the Olympics every four years, is not the fairy-tale concept whereby each of the world's 'state-operated', 'border-separated' 'countries' select their finest 'clean' athletes to compete against each other in a world-peace sharing endeavor. That is the spirit of an idealist concept held-over from many decades.
"The reality is that 'professional sport' receiving any 'TV' media attention, is a monied-venture arm of the 'Entertainment Industry' that is controlled and packaged by mega-multi-national corporations. That huge corporate umbrella extends far beyond the 'shoe and apparel' companies, inclusive of a large expanse of corporate sponsors, not the least of which is the pharmaceutical industry.
"USADA is not sanctioned, nor has anything to do with Congress. It is a part of the sport 'Entertainment Industry'.
"So that said, for a higher understanding of the term "clean sport", associate the concept of "sport" (when referring to 'professional athletics'), as something similar to "professional theater", or even better, 'the Movie Industry' (aka, "Hollywood"). So carrying forward that analogy, KG would be considered an actor currently trying to martial up a 'screen actor's guild', whereby the current rules, both explicit and implicit, are to be changed for the purposes of improving 'worker's rights' (i.e., better pay, insurance, long-term healthcare, etc; case in-point: a "no-needles", policy. Really? What about all of the previously set World Records, including the Women's Marathon, where the current record holder quite regularly embraced the administration of needled 'pharmaceuticals'?)
"The sport industry controllers interests are obviously to package something that can be marketed to the public at large, and worker's-rights are just one piece of the puzzle. The counteracting bargaining position of the mega-corporate controllers is that there is a huge base of willing actors/actresses willing to step up to plate and replace those aging actors that: (a) no longer have public marketing appeal (due to lack of attractiveness on-screen in the Movie Industry, or, similarly, due to diminishing physicality in Athletics), or (b) have second thoughts about their willingness to toe the corporate party-line."
