All this verbiage means is I believe Coe was a more talented runner than Centro, but he wasn't as ballsy.
How is Centro ballsy when he quits every time he has an off day or can't keep up?

He's saving himself for Zurich?
Why bring up Cram when the thread is about Coe and Centro?
That's sounds like a Ventolin ploy to me; sustain an argument after you've lost by going off at a tangent half way through, ensuring you can start abusing the poster for something else you disagree with. :)
Only saying..
It's got nothing to do with being ballsy. Its about winning races and ultimately important races and medals. If being ballsy doesn't do that then its not useful.
We can talk about being ballsy when Centro actually wins something of value. Until that time any comparison with Coe, world record holder and olympic champion, is meaningless.
I think a few posts have been removed from this thread.
I did notice another poster, whose name I can't recall!, who posted a link to another method for working out evened out splits in an uneven paced race.
I didn't get a chance to use the link and would really like to.
If the same poster sees this again, I'd really appreciate it if you could send that link again.
Cheers!

Hi Deanouk
I was that poster. Why was my post deleted?
Anyway, here's the link to evening out splits:
http://timescalculator.appspot.com/optimizerHere's an abbreviation of what I said in my deleted post (I'm not going to write it out fully again just to have it deleted again):
1. Ventolin's method is not based on real physics or physiology. As a consequence, it will provide good results only if the variation in splits isn't too great. With minor variation in splits, Ventolin's method is good.
2. There is not an advertised entry format for 100m splits in that link, but they should still work. In the "pick a distance" box, don't pick a distance. I think that as long as all of your entered splits are the same length, then it should work (I think! Too lazy to try right now, but let me know if it doesn't work).
Many thanks stats.gangsta_the_real_1.
I'll cut and paste it now and check it out.
Appreciate it :)
Many thanks for that link. Tried it out and was quite surprised. Seems a little generous, but I look forward to using it more.
Slow down there big fella, don't get your panties in a bunch.
Come back and compare the two athletes once Centrowitz has won the Olympic 1500 twice and has held the 800, 1000 and mile records simultaneously. Then maybe you can compare the 2.
To even compare Centrowitz to Coe shows that you know nothing about athletics.
Coe would be the top dog in any era and Centrowitz a follower feeding off the left over scraps
Remind me of how your Centrol sub 1:43 prediction went. No I will 1:49!
What a lot of drivel.
Cram went through the 3/4 mark in Oslo mile level with Hillardt in 2:53.14. Even if he went through in 2:53.2, that's a last 440 of 53.1. That means his last 400m was 52.8 not 52.6.
His previous 440 was a slow 58.6. He was never capable of 1:42 low let alone 1:41.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
