What the hell is up with these ridiculous posts? Something like half of the posts on this thread are insults towards the Gouchers. What is wrong with you people?
That's the mark of the NOP team - sling mud. Sling as much of it as possible. Try to turn the conversation around to "Is Kara a bad person?" Straight from the Armstrong playbook.

Sorry but I have not read the whole thread.
I am glad one of the interviewers asked "Kara, how would you like to see this end?"
It seems like if someone truly believes in the allegations that they are putting forward, why not respond with "I want Alberto out of the sport. I want Rupp's medals and records removed from the books."
Your son is 4 years old. By the time he is competing age, there's going to be some new performance enhancing method or drug that we will be debating once again.
Don't pretend that this debate we are having now can result in what anyone would call a clean sport. This is an investigation of ONE coach and mostly just ONE athlete. You want them removed, so say so. Otherwise, your conviction seems a little weak.
That has got to be some sort of record for world's lamest post.
If she answered as you say she should have then she would come across as if this is all some sort of personal vendetta - which is exactly what AlSal is trying to sell (apparently successfully sold to you). But which is exactly what it is not.
Please try growing a brain cell or two.

No, old boy, your boy Farah is going down. So is Centrowitz.
PR Drone are an odd lot. The are sad, lonely, friendless, entities that were beaten up constantly when they were lads.

Oh come on! I'm not a PR person - you just like to accuse people who don't agree with you of being PR people. In fact, I'm an ex-Big 12 track and XC runner, who used to run against one of the Gouchers on a regular basis...
Not everyone is going to agree with you, particularly when there is NO evidence to support her accusations of doping - just lots of innuendo so far.
Sorry, chap, but you ARE NOT a former US runner. You are a PR drone. Not a PR person. A non-thinking drone.
Legal-style evidence isn't necessary. Doping isn't necessary. Salazar's violations are what will end his regime. There is nothing you, and your fellow drones at Frued, can do about it.
I understand if she wouldn't want to make a comment like that in an interview, but in the BBC Doc or in any other story, why not take a stand and lay out the motivation for releasing this information?
How is this not specifically about Alberto and Rupp? If this crusade is against the simplicity of the TUE rule and how it can be manipulated to cheat in competition, then give some evidence that supports that claim. If the sport is in such dire straits that you are afraid for your child's future feelings towards it, then you must believe that it is an endemic problem that exists beyond only the NOP.
I could care less about if someone comes off as having a "vendetta." I can weed through all of that just to get to the facts. Why hold back information if you are afraid it may either hurt Alberto's feelings or cause him to lose his job?

Actually, most likely answer is lazy because their work is so poorly done.
I'd be FURIOUS if I saw their output knowing how much I paid a PR agency to influence opinion. Someone sold Nike/Salazar pure BS. I'm okay with that though.

The NOP is not the athletes. Some of the personal-attack people are from the "Oregon Project" (sons Alex & Tony, and his little girl Maria), which Salazar owns, not Nike. The rest of the personal-attack people work for Freud communications, the same firm Farah, and Simms, hired to "fix" his PR so that Mo could win more money. If the Oregon Project dies, all three of Salazar's children will be unemployed. They are desperate to keep that from happening.

Your ignorance is glaring. Your failure to understand athletics violations across the pond is your giveaway. You work for Matthew Freud, and are one of his PR foot-soldiers.

Did Salazar work with other pros before forming the Oregon Project? He appears to be trying to give the impression that all 55 athletes he mentions have been part of the NOP.
NOP would not have employed someone who had never coached.
Mary Decker-Slaney was his most famous/infamous athlete.
I didn't think he gave the impression that all 55 were part of NOP, quite the opposite.

Yes, it is rather nice forcing Salazar to spend so much of his children's inheritance. What will be funny later is that Salazar will not be able to properly fund his legal defence [Brit spelling for the PR drones]. US lawyers are an expensive lot.
I live in Virginia and am admittedly ignorant.
If Rupp, Salazar, Farah, Centro, Ritz, Webb, Cain, Rowbury, Moser, and gang all get lifetime bans, I will still watch track gleefully.
If I was in Kara's position, and I knew without a shadow of a doubt that NOP had violated the rules of the sport and had gained unfair advantage over however many years, I would say "All those times are bogus. Kick these guys out."
Maybe I'm too vindictive. Also, impatient. I don't know if this will ever be sorted out, but even if it does, I don't feel that anyone will ever wipe their hands and think "We've done it. The sport of track and field is no longer suspect to cheating."
Kara nearly finished last yet is on video. Anyone figure out what her motive is? Stay relevant despite diminished running skills. Only letsrun is feeding her machine.
The threats go beyond physical like Chris Whestine but can be far reaching. Nike has the best athletes and imagine getting into a meet. If one of schumachers runners is on the bubble and close to getting in Nike can hold back one of their top tier guys to bar someone else. We've already seen what they threatened to do to magness and college coaching, pummeled a massage therapist and have gone into personal attacks.
If there wasn't any truth why would close to 20 people come out and have their lives potentially ruined for a lie that can be easily disproved? You won't take down nike but you can clean up the facade that is alsal. Someone else was right, there will be someone who comes around equally as unethical but it's like wack-a-mole keeping the sport clean.
Lenny, you don't get how the WADA/USADA system works. Investigation. Interviews. Bans. Spirit of sport. Drug violations of any kind. Health of athletes.

I think that is the question that the reporter was trying to ask Kara. Why are you potentially ruining your life for this story?
Her response makes no sense to me. She wants "justice"? what does that mean? Does she want NOP disbanded? Rupp's AR taken away? Medals returned? Alberto to go to prison?
Then to say that she wants her son to be able to believe in the sport. I don't think there is any way that her actions so far have helped that cause.
I want to believe her. I agree that the politics of track and field are frustrating, but let's stay on task here. That is a completely different issue with hundreds of different angles that need to be discussed separately.

STFU. You have absolutely nothing of value to say.
Jamie XX wrote:

Nike has an easy way out. They allow (sell) use of the name Nike for use by the Salazar owned "Oregon Project." Salazar is not a Nike employee. He is a consultant. Consultants are required to carry their own liability insurance. When Salazar goes down, the Oregon Project dies, and the term NOP dies with it. Nike continues on and will move athletes to other coaches.

Correct. I am asking for some enlightenment.
At the end of the day, would Salazar getting banned be the goal of the 17-20 people who have come forward with the allegations?
Lenny Leonard wrote:

This is something a PR drone would ask. It is the reason PR firms exist. Threaten people. Attempt to break them. It works most of the time. It will not work this time. It is funny seeing how desperate for answers to bogus questions the PR drones are.
