Just watched the BBC coverage of the Chicago Matathon..it would almost make you wish you were British to see running broadcast live on TV like that!!!! Almost.
Have you seen it Wejo? Steve Cram laughs at you pretty much the whole way....Eyyyy that fellah in the yellah is er pacemakah. Is name is Weldon Johnson and ees nevah run fastah than 2:20 before. Ees gohhah be avin some problems late in the race tryin to ang with our Paula.
Paula's reealy runnin aard now an poor Weldon looks a bit knackered....heh heh heh.
To be fair he did say a few nice things when you were still there at mile 19.
Pretty cool coverage...but what was the deal with that stupid breath right strip? did they give you any money?
Screw Steve Cram:) But it's funny how people interpret the same thing. I've had people email me and say I looked great at Chicago. I also had one person who saw me at mile 12 emailme and say I looked like death.
Haven't seen the BBC coverage. Saw the US Coverage where Toni Reavis said letsrun.com was The place to go for running news on the net.
As for the Breathe Right, a guy who used to work with them (nobby hashizume- the guy trying to arrange an arthur lydiard tour in the US), gave it to me the night before. Said I should consider using it. I looked into it and was debating it.
I'm always the last guy out of the bathroom before the race and all the Kenyans were in there putting on the strips. I asked them if I should put it on, "Yes, Yes. It will make you run fast".
So I tried it. No complaints although I ripped it off about 15 miles.
