They have splits on the results... Andrews ran 52.13 for the last lap.
Centro ran 1:48.7 for the last 800.
But he spent a lot of time in the outer lanes, probably worth 47.xx if he stayed on the rail
It was regular broadcast. Buy some rabbit ears if you don't have cable!

Did I really just plan my day around watching 1500 live on USATF.tv only to have them filming someone raking the long jump pit instead of them filming the actual race?
NBC has the track events dummy.
USATF's twitter account calls Felix's win a "major upset"... Felix winning anything being a major upset is a little weird to me

Me too. But being Canadian I'm used to this sort of thing when TSN switches over to Curling during overtime of an NBA playoff game

I feel sorry for the 400 hurdlers. My god are they all good. Michael Tinsley is the reigning Olympic and world silver medallist and he'll be left home.
How do they barely mention him?

Michael Tinsley has a bye into the World Championships. He was the 2014 Diamond League Champion.
Hard to dispute the accuracy of flash results, but keep in mind Centro had nobody in front of him for any part of the last lap and thus ran a tight line. Andrews had to work past 8-10 runners over the last lap and 5-6 of them in the last 150m, taking the last turn very wide. His final burst was astonishing to watch. I thought he waited too late, but man, what it must feel like to have that extra gear!

For anyone who missed any race due to looking at the wrong site or local station deciding to go to Weather, you can go to nbcsports.com and watch from there. You just need to know your carrier and your password associated with the carrier. Made things less frustrating when I remembered that (I am in the DC area with bad weather and local coverage not showing the end of the Steeple or the 1500)
3 great kicks in a row. Wow exciting

Ben Blankenship - always the bridesmaid, never the bride. I feel for the guy. Gotta be tough to get beat out by next to nothing after the year he's had.
Anybody else see them lost Johnson's 400 WR as 46.78?
Who would have predicted Robby 2nd and Wheating 5th?

4 bay antenna for $30 gets 32 channels, or make your own for less.
Wheating had the third-fastest final 400 in the field. He might have made the team if he would have put himself in position to use that kick, but he was towards the back of the pack most of the race. I don't understand why, when the race went out that slow, you wouldn't try to position yourself towards the front.

I'm glad all of you are watching your first track meet. Makes it much more exciting when you don't understand what you are seeing. Typical 1500 (except for that last lap in 47.5 for Andrews). He did run a 43 last quarter at the NCAA meet to win the 800 a few years ago. Anyone notice there are some Oregon Duck athletes competing in the meet? Neat for those kids. Felix ran the second smartest race to win. The runner up took them out and hung on with her man arms. The Bolden favorite that finished fourth ran like an 8th grader in terms of strategy and effort then suffered from loser's limp when she didn't win. Cost her the trip in the open 400/altogether unless Felix drops it and runs the 200. Can't wait for the Oregon intersquad meet next year. They won't have to announce anyone but Duck athletes so that should sound better.
