Schumacher was recruited to Oregon by Salazar and after a very short while working with him, split and formed his own group. There was a reason for this. Question the BTC guys all you want, but if you live in Portland you hear the rumors about Salazar and his group all the time and there are enough people in and around BTC knowing this group is clean.
As for Jager's 3:32...it's not surprising considering he rarely races the event, has been healthy for a few years now, ran 8:05 at Pre (showing he was in fine form) and was always more of a 1,500m guy until 2012.
