A nice move by Fagan who is Ireland's only Olympic marathon qualiifer.

It doesn't excuse what he did, but at least Fagan admitted his mistake and tried to make some amends. Gatlin on the other hand just continues to deny and show no remorse.
He admitted to one usage which just happened to be right before he was tested. Does that not sound dubious to you that the only time he doped happened to be when he got caught?
I felt something wasn't right when I read about what happened to him at Chicago - dropping out with dehydration after 40k, on a not terribly warm day. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the (side) effects of EPO, but I always assumed that thicker blood equated to a higher likelihood of suffering with dehydration type symptoms in a race situation unless you proactively addressed it...........
At least Ciaran O'Lionaird was 'smart' enough to reveal (5:15 onwards - check out the eyes) that his sudden breakthrough was down to giving up training, having a sexy little massage, and toking away on an inhaler:
No rojo,
We don't all agree. A great many people don't care about continuously hounding people who have or might have doped, or pushed into a "gray area". Not all of us are close/single-minded anti-doping zealots.
God I'm sick of your guys' crap.
Who?

O'Lionaird seems like a rather clear case of someone who went "on" XYZ, ran very well for themselves, then had to come off and has suffered.
Granted, the guy has had injuries as of late and was a talented junior. However, looking at the jumps he made suddenly his last(?) year in the NCAA and while with NOP (not commenting on that situation here) are astounding for someone that was apparently rarely able to train properly for most of his career in uni (and thus lacked a progressive training background that would have made those sudden jumps more plausible in my mind).
That and the fact that he used to summer with Fagan in Flag...
Theories ... Lovely Theories ...

Then stay off the message board.
Gaitlin served his ban and his past is generally ignored by the public/RW crowd. Meanwhile he takes another athletes lane and maintains a high profile career.
Fagan severed his ban, will not be taking an irishmans entry at the *Olympics*, confessed and showed remorse.
Regardless, both cheated yet I parse the differences.

Really showed the experience of an experienced doper too in buying the EPO off the internet with his credit card and having it delivered to his home address, not! That's an amateur mistake and anyone used to handling banned substances would know better than to leave a blatant paper trail after them.
And Rojo. No, we don't all agree on this as already pointed out. The amount of nonsense surrounding Fagan and NOP too is outrageous. Destroying lives and not just careers.

I wouldn't call it "a nice move," more like he's avoiding the public beating he would get from the brutal Irish sports press for being a druggie going to the Olympics as the sole Irish representative. Also, he's admitted to some health issues, which prompted his desperate
Rojo, it seems a bit hypocritical that as soon as anyone posts about the NOP situation you flag it, bump it up etc... but you continually delete any posts about the '3' athletes with suspicious blood levels' on the IAAF doping list. Did your friend at the Daily mail not tell you who they were?
Had a few beers with Fagan and the Providence crew back in 06 probably one of the best group of guys to hang around very close nit. Fagan is a good guy regardless of his admitted use of EPO. People go through extreme lengths to get ahead he made some mistakes but these mistakes don't make him a bad guy.
