That's right, the interview says nothing about taking this all the time, just when he gets sick.

NyQuil also makes you drowsy as shite the next day; performance sabotager...
I'm with the OP. Anybody who thinks that a sleep aid, painkiller, and body temperature decreaser doesn't aid performance, even when below allowable concentrations, is a fool.
Eaton is a PED user. Thus far he has either stayed within the rules, or not been caught for stepping outside the rules.
But for me, the bottom line is that he has admitted use of this stuff. Really, how different is it from using asthma medication below the TUE limit allowed? It's no different at all. It is also no different in kind--without either medication, performance will suffer, and neither medication is required to sustain life in critical situations.
Eaton = NOP = User
No difference.
Anybody know if Nyquil formulations contain the same active ingredients in all countries?
Yeah and it makes just as much sense as it did before haha. It's a sleep medication, not a running medication. It's made to make you sleep smoothly, not run smoothly. I personally don't even like it because when I've used it, I've woken up feeling too drowsy. Also it's not even a perscription drug...anyone can get it. And last of all, it's under the permitted substances on the USADA outline.
Sleeping is performance enhancing.
Anyone who sleeps is a cheat.
You are wrong, it enhances the ability to endurance training.

This was posted previously: "Newer versions of Nyquil contain acetaminophen. Paracetamol is the U.S. name for actaminophen."
Evidently, only the U.S. uses a different name for the same thing. Why?
http://www.peoplespharmacy.com/2014/11/26/paracetamol-is-acetaminophen/"Elsewhere in the world, the ingredient in Tylenol and many other pain relievers is called paracetamol. In the U.S. it’s known as acetaminophen."
So, besides Nyquil there are many other common drugs that use paracetamol/actaminophen.
From the link above this was an interesting comment:
"A friend from Australia sent me something called paracetamol. He said I could take as much as I want with no risk to my stomach. It works wonders on my sore knees. If I take 650 mg before bed I sleep well and awake refreshed."

Actually, that doesn't answer the guy's question--he asked if the active ingredients are the same, not if their naming is consistent.
Dayquil or Nyquil? Or does it fall in the Duskquil area?
Actually, you failed to understand. They are the same except some ingredients have different names in different countries.
Because the parrots ate 'm all?
You can still get pseudoephedrine including Nyquil from the pharmacist, no prescription needed.
The main reason OTC sales were restricted is that it was being made into methamphetamine. Which is a clue why so many sprinters have been using the stuff in competition since amphetamines were banned.
Legal, yes. But it's no Flintstone vitamins.

Did you watch the interview? I'll follow up with him but his point was he doesn't take anything.
He was saying when he gets sick he just takes Nyquil that is how I took it. His coach said he doesn't even take a multivitamin.
An athlete is allowed to take Nyquil when sick.
I think you got trolled. These guys are mocking how the board can over interpret an issue when it is consistent with preconceptions.
For example, preconceptions of Eaton are good. Not so for some people here when it comes to Centro. Eaton can say he takes NyQuil for colds, no issue except for the guy trolling you. But, if Centro says he doesn't drink beer, some guys get conspiratorial about hiding beers under baseball caps. Centro says he had a virus and people come up with all sorts of theories. It's funny.
Nyquil: The info about Nyquil is rather good. Particular the article link about cyclist who use it to improve training ability. This is one of those approved for use things that can be abused, and that some people become addicted to. My takeaway was to avoid using things like Nyquil as much as possible.

This was my understanding as well.
Not a good sign. "Just Nyquil, ha ha..."
Not funny, Ashton.

Pharmacist here: The article you link is referencing a study that is garbage for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is the sample size of 11 people. You can't really conclude anything from it. Secondly, to the rest of this thread - NyQuil does contain pseudoephedrine - a substance that is not banned by the WADA out of competition. In competition, it is not banned at urine concentrations below 150 micrograms per mL. Taking the daily recommended dose of NyQuil will not produce a urine concentration over this amount.
Quit trying to stir controversy where there is none. Go back to your tabloids with that bullshit.

Really? The great Ashton Eaton needs this stuff to be great? He can shove it. No wonder he doesn't want to talk about doping. He can take his world record and shove it. The real question is, what would he have done without this list of pharmaceuticals? What a joke, what a fake.
Idk who he is, but now that you've posted this there's going to be a stampede to get nyquil by all the Letsrun drug believers.
