I have run 12:36 for 5k and 2:02.56 for the marathon!

No, sadly you haven't and wish you could break 2:18. 2:17+ and I have not run between 1:04 and 1:05, believe it or not.

which Olympic Trials did you run? I would love to find your old footage. Let us know, it nice to be posting with a former trials runner.

I saw Luke and assumed Luke Humphrey So yes, writing out the full name is paramount.

Agreed. Those saying it is a steppingstone to much greater marathons are really clueless. A 2:15 for someone wanting to be in the mix for elite-level greatness in marathoning. A 2:15 isn't going to cut it. That is like a guy with Olympic 5K aspirations happy with a 13:50. Sorry, that aint going to cut it.

Brian Sell was a legit marathoner. I bet he'd have loved to have the leg speed Luke has. Sorry, but some people just can't hack it in the marathon. Very disappointing to see so many 1:00-1:03 guys who suck in the marathon. They have a lesson or two to learn from the old timers.

Brian Sell was NOT a legit marathoner. Ever hear of the 2004 trials? His early days were NOT amazing. Brian turned himself into a legit marathoner over a period of several years, with the Hanson's help. You really don't understand running do you?

I too competed in Olympic related event, but unlike you I was not a marathoner. And I am not American originally. It is quite an honor.

YES, I was there! Brian led for a good part of the race. Conditions were terrible for the marathon- very windy, cold, and light snow. He was too ripe yet, but he stuck his neck out there by himself, much like Desi did in 2008. He WAS a legit, built-for the marathon guy. Luke on the other hand is not.

Anybody know Puskedra's set-up now?

I presume he's left the NOP, and saw he was now saying Eugene as his base - is he back with Powell and training with the Oregon team and post-grads like Stinson and Dunbar who are still based there?

Very talented guy, would be interested to know what his set-up is now and if he's running unsponsored?
