I get what you're saying - in the context of his situation and his total blowup at NYC last year this is a step forward. But looking back a little further and judging this time by his latter college days and his half marathons this is STILL BAD.
http://www.iaaf.org/athletes/united-states/luke-puskedra-242228#progressionLook at those half marathons. He ran Houston from 2012-2014 and ran 1:01-1:02 in each of them. To be able to run that fast in the half and so badly in the fully, especially when the full is the money event and the olympic/worlds event, shows that he's been training for the full stupidly for 3-4 years. I'll give him 2012 because he was still in college training for the 10k trials, but 2013-present have to be considered focusing toward the marathon.
Maybe this is just a case of the wrong event, like Ritz. Somebody who is an aerobic monster but for whatever reason breaks down over the full distance. Ritz at least had (has?) great range from 5k-13.1.
2:15 for a guy who has been in 61-62 minute half shape for 4 years is so bad. That is 9% slower from the half to the full. Canova would tell you that with proper training he could get down to a 4% difference in a perfect world = 2:06. If you don't think that's realistic, sub 2:10 has to at least be considered for a guy like Luke.
At least we know HE'S not doping...

Oh, so, so wrong. luke was at eugene clown kollege and NOPe Pretty much zero chance that he wasn't juiced then and now.
Luke's 2nd Houston half (1:02) was probably equivalent to a 1:00 as it was run in terribly windy conditions. The winner (Lelisa?) ran a 1:01 and had run a 59:20 the year before. So 2:15 has to be a big disappointment for him.
A 1:02 half mary is equivalent to a 1:02 half mary. Try to keep up.
Do you mean Luke Puskedra? How about writing out the name of the person the thread is about? Is that so difficult? He's clearly a lot better at the half than the marathon. Ritz did figure out the marathon once with the 2:07:47, though even that was arguably sub par for a 12:56/60 flat championship guy.
Solid time for 1954.

So Bob Beamon's 29' 2 1/2" is just that? No mention is necessary of its altitude-assistance?

With knowing the circumstances, I guess you can say solid, but that's about it.
Hmm. I definitely thought everyone would be a lot more positive and encouraged by this than i am, apparently. He finished, and negative split it. Anyways, when will his next race be? Any interviews from him at this race?
You're an idiot who knows nothing about running. Ever hear of bad conditions? Duh!

Luke P or Lukas V?
LOL

Correct. There was no "altitude-assistance" (sic).
Wow, hard to believe that you could actually make yourself look even dumber...but you did it. What's worse is that I just posted and you were obviously sitting around on a Saturday just waiting for a post on this thread so that you could respond with your overwhelming wisdom. Amazing! Back to your Playgirl magazine and buddies basement.

Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
