Answer just one question, and do so honestly.

What do you think of Alberto Salazar?[/quote]
Alberto is scheduled to make an announcement on TUEsday
Clever...Perhaps Alberto will also provide a list of all the Gold Medal winners on Thyroid Meds, all the athletes with Inhaler's, all the athletes wearing glasses/contacts so they can see the track ahead, all the current world and American records that should have an asterisk next to them to indicate likely drug users?
It all feels way overblown and too personal. Lots of piling on, guilt by association etc. in the very insular world of track and field. Alberto has clearly made lots of enemies in life...
Is anyone pure out there?

Yes, just not the top dogs, Rupp and Farah, under Salazar's spell.
Totally, this just like an economic collapse in 2008 and a war tha was totally unnecessary and mismanaged.Perhaps he just shouldn't take responsibility and leave it to a successor.

He should blame it on Bush. Works every time.
So what about Centro, Cain, Rowbury, Levins, etc.? Guilt by Association?
Are they all under Alberto's spell, forced to do what he says or else? Is he track's version of Lance Armstrong "forcing" team members to dope?
Doubt it.
Far bigger fish to fry out there in track and other endeavors.
Note, I was once on Advair, have an inhaler for exercised induced Asthma, and have been on Thyroid medicine for 20 plus years and wish they had made me faster...maybe I need to speak to Alberto?
What if Alberto just doesn't respond?

The other possible one to go down is Centro. The rest no.

And what's illegal when Nike bought immunity from USATF? At least. IAAF is silent on this too, so they are bought and paid as well. I do believe that Salazar has Nike wrapped around his finger, that USATF is corrupt and will not do much unless the evidence is much stronger.
Real corruption would be "doing much" without much stronger evidence than the hearsay, speculation, NIKE-phobia, compulsive cynicism, and obvious animus of most of Salazar's detractors.
The ultimate corruption is succumbing to mob rule.

Personally, I think this is the most likely. Salazar and Nike are not under any particular pressure here in the U.S. since nobody really cares about T&F and/or already believes it's a sport riddled with drugs. The real pressure is on Mo, I think, but, eventually, the attention of the British press will shift to some new shiny bauble and that will be that.
NOP and Mo's reputation will have suffered some permanent harm, but, again, so what? The only people who really care - us - already thought that NOP was dirty, so...
I wish this wasn't so, but Nike has enough money and influence to keep the FBI at bay, WADA and USADA is already doing everything it can (testing NOP-ers more frequently).
This is just like the IAAF drug scandal a few months ago. Remember that? We all thought that the reports would bring the whole crooked business to an end. So far, nothing has happened.
In a way this is more depressing than the existence of drugs in sport at all, or, that many of the best US distance runners are drug cheats. It's that, even when that fact is revealed, nothing happens.
Obviously, I hope I'm wrong and that this will end NOP and Salazar's career as a - well, whatever he is - but I thought the same thing would happen way back in 88 after Ben Johnson. Though the biggest name in the sport was very publicly prosecuted, drug use continued unabated.
My only hope is that Epstein has better evidence of criminal wrong-doing that does get the FBI involved. I still think that's possible. I hope....
He will use the "Lance Armstrong defense" stating that no athlete ever tested positive. He will say that he was within all the rules. For example, as long as TUEs are allowed, he will legally use them. If there is a parameter given for any possible performance enhancing drug, he was always within them. All comments regarding this issue will be short, well crafted statements.
He will then state that his athletes work hard, are dedicated, etc. and give many examples of their hard work. He will reinforce the training aspect of his system, therefore deflecting all the drug allegations. More time will be spent on that part of the press conference instead of the drug related comments.
If questions are allowed, he will only answer questions regarding workouts, mileage, and races. He will give either no answers, or vague politic-like non-answers to all other questions.
You want answers??? We live in a world that has tracks, and those tracks have medals that need to be won... Who is going to win them?? You? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Kara, and you curse the NOP.. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That Galen's doping (while tragic) probably won medals. And my existence while grotesque and incomprehensible to you wins medals. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at training camp, you want me on that track, you need me on that track. I use words like microdosing, TUE, and pharmacology. I use these words as the backbone of a life spent winning medals.... You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time, nor the inclination to explain myself to a country that cheers and exalts the medals I provide and then questions the very manner in which I provide them. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you get your shoes on and get on the track. Either way I don't give a damn what answers you think you're entitled to. Did I order the doping.... You're GD right I did.
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ !
I was thinking this almost exactly while on my run just now!
You did it more justice than I could have, though. Very well done!

He might not, but I can't really see how that is a viable response. He can't be expected to counter every single point (especially as many come down to who you believe), but I think his best approach is to open the books up and counter any claims he can. After he's done that, he will either be exonerated, go down in flames, or land somewhere in the middle.
When you have one random accuser, you can ignore them, but several require a response, and it needs to be more than a PR statement "I believe in a clean sport" or "no one has failed a test."
I've been willing to give Salazar the benefit of the doubt, and consider alternative explanations for some claims, but only because I expect to see a response from him at which time there can't be an argument that both sides haven't been presented. Given the circumstances if he doesn't provide a somewhat detailed response, it leaves only one narrative out there, and unless he can't, counter that narrative, even partially, why wouldn't he?
He'll soon step down as head coach of the NOP in disgust, saying that he will no longer be able to do the job he loves on his terms because his various accusers have ruined it for him, and the distractions will forever be too much. A not-insignificant number of people will buy into this not-so-subtle deflection and posturing, while others will snicker and take solace in the fact that he wound up at least superficially paying for his excesses. He'll continue to draw a salary from Nike, and he won't receive any official sanctions from USADA et al. When some wry scribe asks him if he still thinks God has his whole life mapped out for him and that this mess was always divinely ordained, he won't address the question.
My handle will be the title of his sequel to "14 Minutes."
"Galen who???"
My prediction
Not one of the athletes who have made statements about me have said they heard me advise them or any other athlete to take any substance banned by Wada or for which the athlete did not have a TUE for not one.
Not one of the athletes who made a statement about Galen ever witnessed him taking any banned substance unless he had a TUE.
Doctors prescribed medication to Galen where appropriate not me.
There is a lot of misinformation out there. Thyroid hormone is not banned and requires no TUE. Most Asthma medications are not banned and do not require a TUE. Prednisone is banned in competition only and we got a TUE the few times Galen needed it before competition.
Whilst people might question the ethics of what I have done I have always operated within the legal limits of the sport and have communicated with USADA to ensure this is the case.
Galen has never taken testosterone and only took testoboost. One might question why this was recorded as Testosterone medication on a chart in 2002. Unfortunatly the only person who can answer that question passed away.
The substance in the vials mentioned by Stiner was allergegy medication. No one can prove otherwise and I find the assumptions people are making about this ridiculous.
I deny I ever applied testosterone cream to my son and no one can prove otherwise as it did not happen.
I have suggested athletes use more of their asthma medication or thyroid medication but only when they told me they were struggling with their condition and only after a doctor had already prescribed the medication to them. I advised them to speak to their doctors for advice.
The Asthma test of running round the track and to the doctors office was a practice suggested by doctors to simulate what athletes face when training and competing. I do not see anything wrong with showing the doctor how your body reacts during sport.
I find disgusting the way this has been portrayed in the media. One statement after another with not one confirming I told them to take anything banned or saying I told Galen to take anything banned. A media attack based on nothing which has ruined reputations based on falsehoods and unfounded assumptions not based on hard evidence or fact.
I am open to any investigation by USADA and WADA and remain committed to a clean Sport.
Alberto
Justin Gatlin isn't clean yet he is brave enough to address the media and even intimidate the media on the issue when asked. Can Salazar pull this off too?

8/10. Really nice work here. Nice personal testimony in there too. The reader is supposed to be influenced to stop spending time on the topic when reading this post.
I'm very interested to find out what bigger fish there are to fry in Track and Field.
