Predictions? It's a fast course, but not competitive. Last year's winner was 1:05:high. Surely he should be able to win?

He said himself at the expo that he "thinks his wife is in better shape than him". Not sure we should have high expectations for him, however I'd assume the course record is in play. I hear it's basically downhill and really fast despite starting at altitude (~5000 feet).
DNF, obviously.
It is almost purely downhill, but the altitude is enough to cost a couple minutes. The net effect is that it's not quite as fast as a half on a course like, say, Dubai, but probably about on par with the average half that he would run. He's not going to show up without some training, right? Presumably he should still be able to run 1:04, right?
And still, I'd be surprised if he couldn't run 1:03 if he just managed to put together a good race.

Altitude will not be a factor at all for him. He's coming down from over 6700'. Add the 1500' decent and he should be looking at a very fast half, even somewhat out of shape. If he doesn't at least run 1:04 I'd be surprised.
How many starts/entered but DNS and how many finishes in last 2 years?
How many in contention for the win at 75% of the race completed in last since 2012? For top 3?
He and Sara will run a 1:15 together.
so... ?

If he keeps a car parked near the start line, I predict he can drive to the finish, cross the finish timer mat, and get him a Mike Rossi PB.
Otherwise, DNF
He never said he was going to run. Professional runners often show up at expos for speaking/appearance at a sponsors booths.
Not sure why the OP assumed he was running.

"I will be out running the half saturday morning"
Ryan Hall is truly turning his career into a joke.
unbelievable!!!
i don't know why i'm surprised.
Via the 2nd place finisher in the half today on twitter- Hall was just doing a workout. Hope his training is going well and that he can get into some faster road races this summer and post some good results
His bib says 4720

I have a friend running who spoke to Ryan Hall and said he wasn't racing and just treating it like a training run.

An elite runner treating it like a training run should still win the race easily.
A race starting at ~5,960' and descending fairly steadily by ~110' to ~115' per mile should give back in the topography far more than it takes away thanks to the altitude, even to someone who's not altitude-trained.
