Having learned from Munich, would Pre have blazed from the beginning at Montreal (if not for his untimely death, possibly by Shorter - thanks Ted-D)? And if he had pushed the pace throughout, would it have mattered?? Was Viren simply untouchable at the Olympics? AND! if Pre had moved up and faced him in the 10,000 instead of the 5, and implemented the same balls-to-the-wall tactics, would the outcome have been any different??
It sure would have made for a hell of an interesting race.
