Good call, the IAAF official track markings are for a track with an inside water jump for the steeple, but this track in the video definitely doesn't have an inside water jump for the steeple. I don't know that they were definitely on the 2000m steeple line to start, but I wish someone could find a pic of a track with an outside water jump.
Regardless, I think everybody should go to about 3:59 in the video. From there to 4:02 you are looking at the finish line, but can also see the area of the 1500m start across the way. There are 2 curved white lines that occur well before the end of the curve (which is where the break-line would be, and you can see the end of the curve by tracing a line across the infield from the finish-line). So, if there are that many curved lines before where the break-line would be, I think they started on the correct line.
