In your world does Matson's sub 4 HS mile set in a all-HS meet count as a real sub 4 mile?
About Robinson:
in late 1989, Robinson gave an interview with Stern in West Germany accusing a number of figures in American track and field of using and distributing performance-enhancing drugs. In October, The Athletics Congress (later USA Track & Field) had allowed the voluntary resignation of Robinson's former coach Chuck DeBus for giving banned substances to his athletes. Robinson said in Stern that, while staying at his house in 1982, he had seen Carl Lewis inject himself with a white fluid – what he believed to be testosterone. Furthermore, he said he had seen Tom Tellez (Lewis' coach) distribute blue pills to his athletes and claimed that these were banned steroids. Robinson had begun training with Bob Kersee in 1987 and he claimed that the coach had advised him on steroid use and given him two types of tablets; Anavar and Dianabol. Robinson also claimed that he had personally sold a 10-cubic centimetre vial of human growth hormone to Florence Griffith-Joyner in March 1988, just months before she ran two world records and won an Olympic gold medal.

It probably is for an high school only meet. It most certainly is for a high school junior. Next year his school returns some other runners who placed at the state meet. Their 400m relay team could break 40 flat next year. And, he might be the first ever high school 400m runner to break 45 in a high school only meet.

Next year are the Olympics. Based on post race interviews, Norman looks like a teen and is well-spoken, charismatic and photogenic. He just might get signed up and turn pro his senior year....

I don't think so. At 1984 or 1985 Texas UIL track champs, Roy Martin ran still-national record 20.13 and anchored Dallas Roosevelt to 40.2 and 3:09 winning relays. That year Stanley Kerr and Joe DeLoach both broke national 200-meter record before Martin ran his time in 5A final. 8 guys broke 21.00 seconds in the championships that year. martins relay split was close to 44:00 I believe.
Roy Martin never ran 45.19 for 400m. He has no 400m time listed on IAAF, or anywhere else.

Sorry, but the 44,0 relay split is not credible.

He ran many sub-45 relay splits. He ran 20.3 or faster 5 times, including 2 20.13s- the guy who suggested Murietta might run sub-40 is crazy. They had best of 40.53 prior to yesterday. Only Texas schools break 40. Of the top all-time 4 x 100 and 4 x 400, 20 of the 21 are Texas teams.
sorry, but 'sub 45' martin should have some real 400s. but he never did. texas has a lot of top high times and distances, and most of those athletes could never perform as well afterwards.

He didn't run open 400 meters because he was running 100, 200 and 2 relays. He has 5 of top 7 all-time 200 meters. Oh, he ran a 10.18 too. 20.13, 10.18, 40.2, and 3:09 blows away 20.3, 45.19, 40.53 and ???
Well of course he can go pro you doubters. But he's not doing it without me.
Rhett-
Get your bum over here and pretend to save me. I can do the business all on my own, just so you know. It would just be nice to have you around to handle things that I don't particularly like to do, like managing the money. and if I can't get out of bed because of the fumes from my pedicure, you could step in and do a show. But don't you expect to be my cofounder if you aren't sitting right next to me rubbing my...feet.

Your Texas roots run deeper than most. Loosen the star covered thong, it's putting to much of a squeeze on your.

I saw that. I had a 44.5 split on him. I think he split 44.5 one other time and had a couple of other sub-45 splits, but nope - no open 4s, at least not on the radar.
His 20.13 at State was (and remains) the HSR. It came on the same day but in a different division as Joe DeLoach's 20.24. DeLoach got the gold in the 200 at Seoul (1988), beating Carl Lewis.
Yeah but the Texas kids are 22 years old :-)
There are two sets of High School Records. One by the National Association of High School Federations (NFHS) and these marks may only be set in meets of five or more high schools that are sanctioned by a member State Association and this window closes with each state's championship meet.
The second set of standards is kept by Track and Field News, a publication and not a governing body, and records can be set in any level of competition from high school only to post season meets, up to and including international competition. This window of opportunity is open the entire summer.
Michael Norman tied the NFHS 400 meter mark in high school only competition.

The night before Stanley Kerr in 2A ran like 20.40 - the first national record.
Martin made Olympic team at 17 - only like 4 have done so - Martin, Jim Ryun and 2 others

And he is a Junior who also ran 20.30 for 200 m. He has another year, plus a post high school summer, to see what he can do. He may not get the all-time 44.69 and 20.13 times, but he has a great shot at getting close to both of those.
Video of the race.

Isn't there a certain date it's allowed until? Like Rupps 13:37?
Depends on which list you are looking at.
The most complete list is the Track & Field News list by Jack Shepherd, which includes all marks by (non-professional?) high schoolers made through August their senior year.
The one brought up by the OP regarding the Aldrich mark is the NFHS Records list, which only include marks up to their state meet and only in strictly high school competition. State meet associations will often list these in their programs (and why not, they are part of the NFHS and marks there would count towards the NFHS list and are easier to achieve). Most that follow the sport, though, aren't so exclusive and consider the Track & Field News list as the golden standard.
Here is a link to the T&FN records list:
http://trackandfieldnews.com/index.php/recordsHowever, it looks like some of these are already out of date (e.g. includes a note about Babcock's 1600m being superior to Plummer's mile, even though Efraimson broke Babcock's 1600 record last year).
Great commentary...so chill, then..."I TOAD YOU!! I TOAD YOU!!!"

Besides the vertical format of the video, this was a pretty good race video. Cracked up at the end when the cameraman was yelling.
Absolutely insane that the kid had made up the stagger on 2 guys before 100 meters was up. He's like a ferrari racing against mustangs. Not even fair.
