Don't mistake me for Bolt... You sound a bit jealous too!
Brooks may be a monster but this wasn't done respectfully. Don't air your dirty laundry, just break up quietly and move on. Why does someone in his 30's not have the smarts, or his network advising him, not to post such long dribble?
He has every right to drop him (I didn't think the txt was that bad, but I'm sure it was just building up because Johnson is so manic), but why do it this way? Stay classy folks?
David Oliver has always been one of my very favorite track athletes. He just comes across like an officer and a gentleman but he made a mistake making this public. I think he just needed to move on without the fanfare. Still a big David Oliver fan.

Brooks Johnson was always a racist azzhole anyway. I don't understand why he had so much influence on the USATF, nor why he was able to have athletes buy into his shite.
True. Brooks is a dope. When I was looking at Stanford back in the day he told a Native American kid who was looking at Stanford at the same time that if he chose X University over Stanford he would be "just another brown face."

Like email, you send a text message knowing that it can be forwarded or shared. If you send anything via email or text that you expect to remain private, you deserve the result.
The title of this thread says he fired his coach "RESPECTFULLY"
It's common sense that anything you email or txt can be seen or get out and made public
The matter of this thread (or so far it's been) isn't so much about it being possible that he had his messages exploited but was it the MORALLY RIGHT THING TO DO? WAS IT APPOROPIATE?
I don't think so
This wasn't done "respectfully", it wasn't "right", it wasn't "appropriate"
He couldve just issued a statement briefly discribing the inappropriate txt that was sent to him, briefly describing the email, explaining how they weren't on good terms and this wasn't the first instance this has happened, and then just left it at that... He's the one causing the drama here...
You know it's funny how he talks about that one night in Europe before one of his races, and his coach says in front of a group of people "yeah, that's why (Jason) Richardson is whoopin your ass", break the silence and he gets mad...
So it wasn't okay for his coach to embarrass his athletes, discuss things that probably should've been said between the two", but he does the same thing?
His email really wasn't all the professional either, you can tell he put a lot more emotion into that than would've been considered professional
So no, David Oliver didnt fire his coach RESPECTFULLY, not at all
