100m: 10.52
400m: 46.72
800m: 1:47.75
1000m: 2:23.63
1500m: 3:59.13
100m: 10.52
400m: 46.72
800m: 1:47.75

1500m: 3:59.13
Brandon Johnson ran 10.41, 46.34, 1:43.84, 2:25.18, and 3:45.12.
So better at everything except the 1000.

Exactly who I was going to mention.
But could Johnson do all of those under the same training plan? He ran the sprint times as a 400mh. Beach's 1500 has got a little slower as his 100 dropped but he was still able to run a 4:06 this year in the same meet as his 10.52 PR.
Seb Coe?
David Rudisha?
46.72 isn't that fast for a world class 800m guy.
eaton
Matt Scherer had good range from 100m to 800m but no 1500:
100m 10.73
200m 20.89
400m 45.19
800m 1:46.11
There was a guy named Cliff West, brother of Cornell West, who ran 3:44 for 1500, making the USA finals, and several years later ran 20.53 in the 200m, #14 in the world that year.
From 100m to 1500m Curtis Beach might win for range within a single day, Brandon Johnson for lifetime
There is also a woman who ran 10.94 and 4:12.................................

Oh, I forgot to say that no elite 800m runner can run a sub-12 100m.
How about El Caballo Alberto Juantorena?
400m: 44.26
800m: 1:43.44
1500m: 3:45
(I don't know if this was a 1500m PR, but he ran at least that fast in '83
http://www.nytimes.com/1983/06/25/sports/juantorena-at-32-making-comeback.html
)
I'd wager Mark Everett has similar range, with
400m: 44.559
800m: 1:43.2
I'm linking this previous thread for two reasons. One, it is an immensely helpful and enlightening thread called "Two kinds of runners" with input from several coaching luminaries. Secondly, a lot of it is dedicated to the training of Fernando Mamede, who was on the Portuguese 4x400, held the national record at 600 meters, and ran a 27:13 WR for 10,000 meters. The "range" topic made me think of it.
I think Curtis Beach was one of THE future guys of our 800 runners, had great speed and barely trained for that event. He split 1:47.xx in HS
Saw him run a great negative split 800 in epic 800 race when Andrews won at HS Nats.
Certainly not many if any could run 10.52 out of blocks
Always thought with his wheels he was a next level 800 guy
Alan Webb? 47.x 400 split to 27:34 has to be the best in U.S. history though
Probably could have run 22.x on a 4 x 2 if he had to. His range is by far the best in U.S. history: 400 relay, 1:43.8x 3:46.x mile 13:10 5K and the 10K
Should have run in there a 2K would have surely had that as well. And that record would have been out of sight when he was fit.
Ummm, ever hear of Mo Farah?

His 100m PB is 12.98. Doesn't belong in this discussion.

I think Rudisha has them all beat for single day range

Steve Ovett ran 11.9 at the age of 15.
From 1500 to the marathon is a much much bigger range than 100 meter to 1500 meter. Who said sprinting had to be included?

Disagree. A 100m to 1500m combo is much more unique, and the training and paces vary more. No one said sprinting had to be included, but it is much more interesting to think about.
While it may be more interesting, the people that everyone have been posting have had times that are only national level for HS so it isn't that impressive especially if done over a career. Look at what Farah has done in the last year.

Rudisha only has high school level times? Dude get out.
And 1500m training is much more similar to marathon training than it is to 100m training.
Who is that 10.94, 4:12 woman?
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
I think Letesenbet Gidey might be trying to break 14 this Saturday
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
