Grant Fisher will be racing at the Nike Festival of miles this Thursday. The rabbit is supposed to bring the field through 1200 @ 2:55. This will surely be the day he breaks the 4 minute barrier.

Should be a great day to run fast. Here's the link for everyone: http://www.milesplit.com/articles/155833
Can we get some time guesses here?
I'm calling 3:58.xx
He just ran 4:01.66 all alone in a light drizzling rain with some light wind... then came back with a very windy 8:53 (4:24-:29, finishing in low-26.....yes, he didn't lead until 200m to go and won by 7 sec.)... so I'll say he goes 3:58.75. He said Saturday was a tune up for the big races coming up, so I assume he's going to be ready to roll these next few weeks.
Anybody know what his schedule looks like here on out? I assume Dream Mile is out, what about NON?
If he isn't wrecked from Saturday's double he should be able to break 4 on Thursday. Will he attempt an all out duece?
Why do you assume Dream Mile is out? I think he's going to Dream Mile and Brooks PR 2 Mile again. If the other front runners in the 2 mile take it through in 4:20-4:22, he could definitely dip under 8:40.

FOM times always depends on weather. Not looking too terrible at the moment, but that can change in a hurry in the Midwest.
Festival of Miles - June 4
Dream Mile - June 13
Brooks PR 2 mile - June 20

Recovery will be key from this weekends double.
Sub 4 is in his grasp. 3:58.9
Good luck and plenty of speed to the young man.

I wrongly assumed that Dream Mile was this coming weekend. The FOM is definitely a better opportunity to run fast, but seems like a lot on the heels of that double and with travel to NYC and Portland in the subsequent weeks.
Glad his coach went back on the whole "not chasing times" rhetoric. Im sure the guy is a good coach, but that never made sense to me.
Why is racing the same thing as "chasing times"? He is racing an appropriate number of times against appropriate competition. Does he want to compete as well as possible and run as fast as possible? Of course.
Put me down for 3:56.8

Sorry, I think my point was misconstrued. I'm all for what he is doing right now- going to where the best competition is. However, at some point there were some rather bold quotes from his coach that made it seem like running sub4 didn't matter when clearly it does (in addition to the historical component, they set up an extra finish line for the kid!).
Many on here were under the impression that he would run he normal schedule and only run the times capable in less than optimal conditions. That obviously is not what's happening and i think everyone is happy about it.
3:57.88. This kid is in hella shape. He just needs the right race.
4:00.35
Think about it. He's gonna race for time on Thursday. He wants to put down a sub 4 before Dream, so that he wont feel pressured to break it at Dream and win it comfortably.
4:00.17. I'll bet the rabbit is slower than 2:55 @ 1200.

Hopefully. 2:57 would be better. I could see Fisher closing :55 off a 3:00 1200, but I doubt he gets an opportunity to do it. That double probably took something out of him, but 3:58 sounds about right. 3:56 on fresh legs and perfect pacing.

The rabbit can come in at 3:01 and he'll still get it. They'll run sub-60 the last lap. 2:55 would set him up for Webb's record.
