I wonder what his OOC testing looks like.

you can take enough pills like a horse, and you still wouldn't be able to run as fast as him.
if he's doping like lance armstrong... while being only 17 years old from a poor country... then doesn't that make him a genius? haha, much smarter than you.
lance armstrong was a millionaire and had contacts with doctors and scientists to push a multi-million dollar empire. if this 17-year-old athlete can do the same without getting caught, then that actually means he's worth more than you.
The WR of Kenenisa was a record attempt, but with the participation of ALL the best specialists in the World. The fact he was psychological tranquil, is due to the confidence he had to be the number one in the World without discussion, and mentally he was not disturbed by Wanjiru and Nicholas Kemboi still with him after 6 km.
Also the WR of Paul Tergat was in a competition with all the bests at the moment, instead the WR of Haile (26'22") was a "solo" attempt, but in bad conditions (strong wind), and with the rabbit quitting after 3.6 km (so Haile had to run completely alone for 6400m).

rupp was 2 seconds off the win.
and beat guys like Jeilan , Ibrahim by 8 seconds.
now the task is fo drop a 54 second last lap rather than 57 and bob's your uncle.
Rupp was 3rd in a Diamond League 5000m. Is it a realistic expectation for him to win a DL 5000m?
This is a great result.

It's almost here. Let this be the official thread.
It's a little warmer and a little bit more humid than ideal for a 10k but we've still got some time for it drop down. Dew point is 62 right now. LetsRun.com's weather expert John Kellogg says ideal would be about 55 degrees with a 50 dewpoint.
It's probably going to be about 68-9 degrees with a high 50s dewpoint.
This is a graph of the world records by event and (1-50) nth fastest average temperature.
The average temperature of the top 50 races in each event are as follows:
73 F 3000m SC
71 F 1500m
68 F 5000m
65 F 10000m

Makes sense to me. I'd think right about 65 would be pretty optimal for 10k depending on sun.
Warmer benefits as the race gets shorter. I expect marathon probably does benefit from being cooler, perhaps mid 50s
Don't have NBC, anyone have a stream link
It was clear to me that both Rupp and Farah's legs were a little heavy. They both seemed to be very strong but lacking a little race freshness. At this time of year, that is a good thing.
LOL, So 73 degrees F is ideal temp to run a 3000SC??……Not.malmo wrote:

Today's picks...
International mile: I think Wheating will surprise here. Blankenship seems like a safe bet though.
800m: Amos in 1:43
SC: Birech will win but it won't be particularly fast.
W800m: Wilson!
W5000m: No WR for GD, but Huddle gets AR in 5th or so
W1500m: Simpson 4:01
Bowerman: Hard to bet against Soulieman. I don't think it will be as fast as last year because Kiprop/Kiplagat aren't coming off as fast of times early season as they did last year. I'll say 3:48 for Soul man.
Anyone know of a livestream for NBC Sports Network? Outside of the US in Canada.
Didn't know Cheruiyot was in the Intl mile - he'll be wanting some redemption from World relays!
What a rough ride for Blankenship! Ugh
One tuff SOB, that was a way less than ideal trip for Ben. Good for him...
PLEASE, A LINK!
Ughh, I wish Cram & Hutchings were announcing like last night.
Hammond & Masback are terrible.
That was balls, just balls. Count me in on the Blanken-ship bandwagon. Giddy-up!!
Could someone give a short summary of the international mile for those without streaming access?
LINK? The Usual ones aren't working!
NEED A LINK.
