Did they forget to move the barriers off the track for the mens steeple start? I swear the men went over a barrier like 10 meters after starting the race. But the rulebook says "the distance from the starting point to the finish line on the first lap shall not include any jumps"

After a protest in the WDiscus, Danniel Thomas does not advance to Eugene, ended with foul.
Only glanced at results earlier, but Mascari, Moussa, Campbell, Franzmair, Amankwah all jumped out at me as big busts.
There was a very serious injury in the 1st heat of the women's steeple.
Girl from SMU had a REALLY bad fall; was treated on the track for 15 min before
she was taken off to the hospital in an ambulance.
16 runners sprinting for a 1st hurdle 30 meters away is asking for trouble.

I think this biggest flop is this whole regional format. There must be a better way to qualify for nationals. One example of the absurdity: Sandi Morris of Arkansas set the collegiate record in the pole vault earlier this year at 15'6. But, she is forced to go to Austin, set around for hours waiting for the bar to get to a legitimate height, take one jump at 13'10, pack up the polls and go home. That seems silly.

I was on the line. It was a decent 75 or so during the 10k, but it was a little muggy and when you've got ~48 people running in a big pack for a decent number of laps it gets pretty warm.
