Succes in distance running largely depends on genetics. You cannot change your genetics.
The reason why you can recover well and get up to 100 mi/week is genetics. The reason why successful runners look like elves is genetics. Most normal men can never hope to be 5'9" 140lbs or 5'6 120lbs or a similar structure, regardless of miles run.
