Fit for whatever you throw at them. That's the beauty of CrossFit Elite training, that you're prepared for the unexpected.
Climb up a wall? Do a triathlon in the ocean with the bike portion uphill (!) in sand? Carry a 200 lbs Doberman on your back? You name it, we're ready.
You think Michael Jordan could excel at all that? No way, he would probably not even survive the first portion of the CrossFit Triathlon (*part of the CrossFit Games a couple of years back).
Also, Rich Froning has a far superior PHYSIQUE than any of these wannabes.
Have you guys ever seen how insanely strong a competitive shotputter (or any thrower) is? A guy like Christian Cantwell can bench about 600 pounds and probably squat double what Froning claims.
Now, I have a coaching friend and summer workout buddy who was an NCAA shotputter. I don't know his bench PR (500+ for sure), but he still holds his college's freshman record at just under 450. That's right, 450, not 350. He can also hurdle hop the full 42 inches in warmups, he can run 400 close to 60 (read: faster than Froning), and like me, he can SLJ close to 11 feet. I'm the same size as Ryan Bailey and also a sprinter, and my friend is about 280 and could probably tear Rich Froning limb from limb if he wanted.
If "the world's fittest man" runs into a guy like this with roid rage, what's he going to do? Call mommy on his smartphone? Froning can hardly run at all.
This is why you are NOT fit if you can't run.
