Junior sprinter/jumper Jenna Prandini attended the meet did not compete. She won three individual events at the 2014 Pac-12s, and has had a monster regular season this year.
Some UO athletes said Prandini was sick. She seemed to confirm that in a short conversation on Saturday. But she didn't look or act sick. Johnson spoke vaguely Friday of Prandini being "checked out and evaluated."
He seems to be questioning their story, but what other possible reason would they keep her out of a meet they really were scrapping to win (they only won by a few points)? Could they be hiding the fact that she's injured so teams don't try and capitalize on that when they make their NCAA entries? Actually, even that wouldn't make much sense since everyone would see her compete (or not compete) at Regionals.
